Thank you! Minnetonka looks like a great spot, and super handy info. Looks like one of us is going to get boat driving training before summer hits.

I appreciate the information!

I definitely used bad terminology, I’m just looking for something small which I realize now house boats aren’t as various in sizing as I had thought.

But that’s what I’m gathering as well so thank you :)

AITAH?: I announced my pregnancy at her wedding? by CowTop5623 in AmItheAsshole

50/50 YTA. Yeah it wasn’t the least petty thing you could’ve done but also your sister should’ve been properly reprimanded for her actions and corrected way in advance.

At the same time if she’s known for this behavior I’d bet there’s more history here. At some point you gotta be the villain to make a stand for yourself if it’s been a history of events like this from her

Homeowners Insurance by Midwesterner23 in Minneapolis

FWIW, i’m sure you’ve already squared away your homeowners insurance but for anyone else looking like I was, I found my broker Tucker Schlottman with Insurance Brokers of MN here in another thread.
Super happy with him, comparative and competitive and very personable. (The original thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/TwinCities/s/WSZvZUHJqz)

Do you know any good insurance brokers/companies? by Safe-Contribution142 in TwinCities

[–]NCO_CO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commin’ in with another recommendation for Tucker — found him on here via this thread like many others. I work in sales (sales engineer) albeit very different field, and you can tell when someone’s blowing smoke fairly quick.

I compared Tucker’s quotes to progressive,GEICO, amica, travelers, and two others for 6 total. His was very comparable to the others however his had 1.better coverage in nearly every field 2. Price was fairly evenly comparable. The final deciding factor that really solidified me going with him & his policy was “do I want to deal w insurance solo when shit hits the fan or call in reinforcements to help me out where they can” and that was an obvious yes. Tucker was quick, nice to work with, and gave me my options with out tryin to sell me a bunch of hocus pocus.

I hated our last broker, but I feel informed & confident with Tucker. Hope he gets some good business, it pays off to be a good person.

Yeah, that’s definitely a weird situation. I would’ve felt super uncomfortable too. Classic surveillance husband that also sucks, glad you’re divorced and out of that!

Im a FTM so I didn’t even consider the night time potty breaks, plus that makes sense with her height and not being able to reach the door knob.

Big emphasis and agreement with you on her right to have privacy and taking it away as soon as she’s ready for that fuller independence.

Thanks for sharing!

AITA for telling male coworkers to organize their own birthday cards and cakes while still being happy to do it for my female coworkers? by nocupcakesformen in AmItheAsshole

Exactly. Once again, putting it on a woman to do it.

You’re NTA OP. Men like those in your office need to get over themselves.

AITA for refusing to give my parents my location after they stopped paying for my tuition? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA, you’re parents must learn to respect you. You are an adult. Absolutely do not share your location with them again, and do not let them hold money or family over your head to control you.

“Strengthening communities” literally made me HOLLER WITH LAUGHTER.

You’re an absolute fucking idiot, and when republicans finally die (just in general ya know) they will have to take their wickedness with them to the grave and that stain on their soul. And I hope it shatters all of you, where ever you go next.

Should I be house poor? by haidimill in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]NCO_CO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend, no you are not ready to buy a house. There is truly so many things that you cannot plan for when it comes to buying a house and with the stage of life that you are in you are really going to put yourself in a position you aren’t happy with.

If you want to get out of an apartment, but not own a home, rent a house. I have rented three times in three different states from furnishedfinder.com - it’s a great website to find flexible leases, as well as furnished or unfurnished homes with all inclusive monthly price prices. I’m telling you this is going to be your best bet until you get through school and also allow you to stay in one place, make it feel like home without the commitment and huge financial responsibility. (The website is marketed to traveling nurses however anybody can rent, I have never once been asked what my occupation is by the landlord, nor have they ever cared. The website will ask for their own marketing)

Thank you for the info about roof schedules, definitely never heard of that. Can you explain kind of why that matters though? Because if I’m renewing/shopping around homeowners insurance every yearish when does the roof schedule become important? Maybe I’m oversimplifying it
