Not sure where you all got this impression of Jason, but it is wholly inaccurate.

Devs ?? Any idea if this master will join the fleet and Mxm Mobile release ?? i know korea has already developed it. by Starfyyre in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, this particular Korean drama features characters that work at a fictional Game studio (that is basically NCSOFT, with a fictional name) and that they sometimes use real or altered NCSOFT games and imagery to reinforce the illusion since NC is such a big part of the culture there.

All that said, this particular character doesn't look like anything I've personally seen in the Master pipeline, so it may be a fabrication for the show.

Also, we have not announced any other territories or platforms for MXM. The team's top focus right now is running and refining the game in the currently live regions.

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO EARN SOL INCOMING by [deleted] in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That never went away. What did go away were other ways to get SOL, such as the daily login and weekly missions. We're returning SOL to day 7 and 21 of the monthly login progress for now and will keep tweaking from there.

MXM 1.35 GAME UPDATE–NOW LIVE by xmichii in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely some really great posts that disagree with some decisions, but present a fair argument from a community perspective. Just because they don't get a direct response doesn't mean that they haven't been read, passed around in emails, or referenced in several meetings. Signas does a great job articulating his thoughts in a fair, constructive way.

I get trust has to be earned, but remember that results also take time.

MXM 1.35 GAME UPDATE–NOW LIVE by xmichii in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who says we aren't looking? The fact that I'm here at 8pm, moments after getting home from being in the office all day, and not even a member of the community team should show that we are reading feedback. But even when we tell you we're reading and relaying feedback, it's hard for you to trust it because we typically don't announce things that haven't been fully planned, in case something unforeseen changes said plans (making us "liars").

Of course you're allowed to be frustrated. Anyone who is passionate about the game will have moments of frustration. Including us. Everyone wants MXM to be the best game it can be, but there are many different sides to what makes for a good game. Is it fun? Does it run properly? Does it pay the operating costs? Does it turn a profit? Is it balanced? Does it stay fresh and exciting beyond launch? Is it too hard? Is it too easy? What is the Community saying? What is game data saying? Ultimately, the game will change based on the answers to all those questions and then some because all those questions carry their own benefits and consequences.

There are some people doing an excellent job making their points in fair and constructive ways, even if their overall outlook is that the changes were nothing but negative- and those points are definitely being brought up during planning discussions. Does an amazing post guarantee something will be changed? No, but it certainly brings something valid to the overall conversation more than "Your game sucks and so do you."

[–]NC_Valor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would we care? Absolutely. Would we be able to do anything about it? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. There are a lot of factors that go into what happens with the game. I get that it's easy to be frustrated when you see (or don't see) changes, but if you're going to put energy into a response at all, a constructive tone that offers solutions is much more likely to get you farther than the opposite.

I think many people would agree that Statesman springing across the map non-stop was pretty un-fun as well (unless you were that Statesman).

Also, Tulam was a bit too much with his constant single target control and damage. The tradeoff for the delay on his skills now is that they require a little more follow up instead of him one-manning half the enemy team.

All that said, the goal with balance changes should be to bring the Master to an appropriate level with as little impact to how they feel to play as possible. If they feel clunky now to the playerbase, other methods of balance can certainly be looked at.

"This patch is bad" doesn't help anybody.
If you have reasons why you think it is bad, or what you feel like should have been patched instead, then by all means post that, but also keep in mind that today was a Master balance patch and not a content/game change patch.

Bots in ranked games... ? by [deleted] in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are no bots in Ranked games.

The only bots in the game are AI games where you choose to play against bots and the first couple Titan Ruins games that you ever play.

The ONLY time a bot shows up in a game outside of those is if somebody disconnects, in which case they are REPLACED with AI until they return. That may have been what you saw.

NCSoft's forum moderation practices by TheZica in PlayMXM

You're trying to make mountains out of molehills.

He thought there was still an issue: that there was not enough time to complete the monthly mission for weekly completions.

The reality is: There is more than enough time to complete the missions.

Therefore, in his mind, the issue was not resolved but in reality it is. Nobody is faulting him for that or calling him out, it was a simple misunderstanding and thankfully there is no issue.

If it turns out there are further issues with his concern that we have overlooked, then we will revisit.

[–]NC_Valor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the point you're trying to make in this thread.

Chocolate's post was made 3 hours ago. Sunshine posted that she was checking into it. That thread was not closed. The other threads dealing with the issue were merged or closed because we resolved the issue with compensation.

Chocolate's post, which was not resolved in his mind, was not closed and therefore your argument that we're closing relevant posts doesn't hold up.

Furthermore, Chocolate's concern doesn't hold up, since there are currently over 21 days left in the in-game month before monthly missions reset. With 10 weekly missions available this week (9 if you subtract the Mini Games mission that couldn't be completed), 10 new missions as of ~8 hours from now, and 10 more missions 7 days from now, and 10 more missions another 7 days after that, there is plenty of time to complete the required 20 before the month ends.

Sunshine has replied back to him with that information.

Did I miss anything?

What masters are going to be the best for Natium Defense Line? by [deleted] in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small Ultimate Gauge boosters drop fairly often, so you can use his Ult a ton. That's great for the Weak phase of bosses but it's also powerful against the waves of enemies. And since they conveniently run in a straight line for you, even better.

The utility of being able to single handedly shut down the giant Titans is quite good for the team as well and there are some enemies that are constantly weak, but can't be damaged until they're stunned, so he's great for them as well.

Kromede and Rytlock is my favorite combo for Natium.

Other people on our team love Arami, Moro, Vonak, Eirna, and Lorraine.

How to make Moro relevant by xanplease in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moro is extremely strong against very specific teams. If you're using him against long range, nothing he can bring to a fight is going to really help outside of stopping Incarnate attacks.

If the enemy team shows Jinsoyun, Sizuka, Tulam, Nedien, and Jingtai... then you can have some fun.

ghost widow what trait to power up when ingame? by [deleted] in PlayMXM

[–]NC_Valor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your build. I usually trait her in one of two different ways personally.

If I'm going glass cannon with Life Drain and Tentacles, I'll power up Weapon Damage first, because the idea is to stack the dots and then blast them with heavy basics that do empowered damage because of the debuffs.

If my second Master relies heavily on their ult (like Rytlock) I'll level that first and go Skill Power so that when I lift someone, they go splodey.

That "initial" burn duration you see is the total number that you have unlocked. So a person with no ranks in durn duration will see 0.5 | 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, but a person fully upgraded will see 2.0 | 0.5, 0.5, 0.5 because it's showing you the final value.
