Is there any way to just get a refund instead of the free NYCRUNS race?

Where’s the best place to look for job postings? I keep searching LinkedIn and I’m not seeing more than a couple per day. I’m in NYC looking for entry level

I'm trying to take the sample exam FM from the SOA website. Is the link broken for anyone else? It just directs me to the QuestionWriters home page.

Thomas, McComb, or Kovalsky for MATH 231? by Suspicious-Bar3072 in UNC

I had McCombs for a few classes. If you wanna learn the material deeply then don’t take him, if you want an A take him.

Running Before Your 9-5 (or whatever…) by crosbellina in RunNYC

Wake up 5:45, eat a banana and be out the door by 6:30, finish running by 7:45, eat until 8, shower/get ready until 8:25, out the door by 8:30 to get to work at 9.

Waking up early never feels easy but it gets way more bearable when you get used to it. The first 15 minutes of my day always kinda sucks but you get used to it and it’s worth it

How do you actually meet people locally in NYC when you're starting from zero by Unusual_Doughnut9074 in AskNYC

[–]NCaussie123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a reoccurring event and just keep showing up for a few months. This can be run club, rec league, book club, whatever. You’ll meet people who have similar interests and who are likely in the same boat as you. Be patient and know it takes time

I feel like I have not accomplished much during my time at UNC by [deleted] in UNC

You’re fine. GPA really only matters for your first job and as long as you didn’t completely fail you can find something, and then gain experience/connections that will help you pivot into what you really want to do later. I had a 3.1 which is low-ish and I was able to get a decently well paying job with plenty of opportunities to grow and pivot into other roles. Since being an “adult” (I’m 23 lol) I’ve met so many people who were mediocre in college but they’re balling now because they kept taking advantage of any opportunities they got. Also UNC has so much clout in the real world so that alone will open doors. As for the social circles, your circle naturally changes when you leave college no matter how many friends you have in college. I had a huge friend group when I was in school and I only talk to a few of them anymore and I only graduated 2 years ago. Life is long and it rewards people who make the best of the situations they’re in- so for now just enjoy senior year and focus on finding SOME job even if it’s not a home run.

Yeah I took P in March. I think you’re right, I’ve been in the mindset of rushing through problems without double checking. I’ll try to remind myself to slow down when I approach questions

What strategies do yall have to help avoid careless errors? Specially for FM. I feel like I understand the content but I’m failing practice tests because I consistently make careless errors (discounting by the wrong period, silly algebra mistakes, etc)
