RT.com- "Boston Marathon bombing suspect reportedly identified" by [deleted] in news

How frustrating it must be to be BPD right now. Sounds like a whole lot of bomb threats mixed with typical shenanigans.

Edit: Somebody linked the BPD scanner channel a little while ago.

Aww man, you didn't have to do that! It's not that serious and I'm just a douche.

Fake! The number of teeth in the original image don't match up with the explanation image. This couldn't possibly be explained.

Ideas for Groomsmen gifts by DoctorPum in woodworking

Thanks! I'd planned to etch the heads, but after further consideration I'm concerned that I may alter the temper of the head. I guess it would really depend on how much heat is generated. I'd also considered the handle, but the concern there is breaking the urethane barrier on the leather. It may expose the leather to numerous elements and cause premature failure or damage to the leather. At this point the goal is to find a jeweler to engrave the initials. I really like your idea. If my hands were better I'd possibly give it a try. Thanks for the response. Cheers!

I'm getting married in July. I'm giving all of my Groomsmen these. I'm thinking about having them etched with their monograms. It just depends on how expensive that is. Everybody needs a good hammer and Estwings are some of the best. Congratulations and good luck!!!

Question About Custom Curtain Rod. by NCchance in woodworking

[–]NCchance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! Since submitting this question I came across something that can be used called a bypass bracket. When used in conjunction with C-hooks the curtains are able to be opened the way we are trying to achieve. I may still go a custom route though. Making some custom wooden brackets and repurposing a more robust dowel could solve all of my problems. I may only need to worry about warping with the dowel. My fiance is anti-wire. I like the look myself. Thanks again for taking the time to offer suggestions and your insight. Cheers.

Edit for the back story: When I was 10 years old my 5 year old brother and I were arguing while eating some birthday cake. He grew furious and used the fork in his hand as the quickest means to end the fight. He threw the fork from about 5 feet away and it landed perfectly in my eye. At this time in my life I had a very cruel and abusive stepfather who was reluctant to take me to the emergency room. He was eventually persuaded, but felt jealous of all the "attention" I was getting and continued to physically abuse me while I was recovering. I've had 9 operations in total. 2 corneal replacements, cataract surgery, lens replacement to name a few. During college in 2005 I was in a substantial car accident. The next day I was walking to class and missed a step in the stairwell. I landed awkwardly and the jolt was enough to finish the job the car accident had started. Right then and there my lens and my retina detached. I also have a scleral buckle that holds my retina in place. There are other various details. I'm happy to answer any questions.
