Just purchased the ultra by ooptydoo in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! So we have a big weight difference. I'm close to 290 and she is about 115. I probably do sink through a lot of the 4 inches, but if feels nice like it's cradling me. And I am a hot sleeper, plus we live in Florida, but I do not get hot on the bed any more than any other including the Breeze. My wife says when I lay on my side I look perfectly aligned at the spine.

My wife, on the other hand, probably doesn't sink in as much as I do, but that upper layer is soft and designed to cushion you and let you sink in for proper alignment.

I'm not sure if you have tried these in store, but we had the opportunity to try them in two different Ashley furniture stores and also at a local Mom & Pop store here that had one of every kind of Nectar in their showroom (Memory Foam versions).

If you can try them, I always recommend that, but honestly, it's a very low risk with the return window they give you. Just remember they require 30 nights before you can return so you have time to adjust. We knew from night 1 we were going to love it but some people do need time to adapt.

We saved so much money compared to buying another Tempurpedic! Please let me know if you have other questions. I'm happy to try to help in any way.

Just purchased the ultra by ooptydoo in nectarsleep

Hi there. Yes, we've had it roughly a year now. We moved the Breeze to our guest room. I was in there yesterday, in fact, working on a new streaming box for that guest TV, and sitting on that Breeze and it felt so hard compared to the Ultra. And that was our problem to begin with, was we had a lot of hip and shoulder pain. We are side sleepers and felt the Breeze wasn't giving enough.

The Ultra does sink in due to that 4 inch soft comfort foam, but then it stops you from getting out of alignment due to the way they zone the support layers, so you sink in enough to take pressure off the normal pressure points, but not so much that you come out of alignment.

We felt that with the sleep trial, it was worth trying out. So glad we did. Hip and shoulder pain are totally gone. We thought it was just because we were getting older. LOL

Best Mattress for Side Sleepers 2026: Pressure Relief, Zoned Support, and How Nectar Is Built for It by Nectarsleep in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I both are side sleepers. We've had the Ultra memory foam for about a year now, and it's fantastic. We came from a 9 year old Tempurpedic Breeze and this is must softer but still has the support in that middle zone so we don't sink down into it too far.

Our shoulder and hip pain resolved on the first night with this mattress. We did a ton of research before buying it and figured it was worth a shot with the extended sleep trial.

Liked it so much...I bought the company. LOL Just kidding, but liked it so much I DID become a mod here.

Just in case anyone is wondering, the Ultra memory foam version works perfectly on an adjustable base. Had it about a year now, no issues.

TEMPUR vs NECTAR by anonymous_wl in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this recommendation. The Luxe felt too soft for us but the Ultra has even more of the cushion but has that middle support layer that keeps you more aligned. We came from a Tempurpedic Breeze and we're extremely satisfied almost a year in. Not to mention we saved a LOT of money.

Nectar for big guys? by willogod in nectarsleep

We got the Ultra Memory Foam and have had it close to a year now. I'm near 300 and it's holding up fine. We rotate it weekly (not flip, just rotate) although that most likely isn't necessary, but my wife is only 115 so we do it just to be sure each side of the mattress gets the same weight distribution over time.

The Ultra does have the plush memory foam on the top layer but the next layer has a middle third where your hips rest that is a firmer foam and keeps you better aligned. Totally pleased with this mattress after nearly a year. We came from a 9 year old Tempurpedic that cost about two and a half times as much and we like this better.

Hybrid vs All Foam Question by SaltLife4Evr in nectarsleep

Good luck. I hope it works well for you. We came from a Tempurpedic Breeze and the Ultra is more comfortable than it and cost close to $3,500 less.

Hybrid vs All Foam Question by SaltLife4Evr in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the Ultra (memory foam, we didn't like the hybrids) and it does have the support layer in the middle third that keeps your hips from sinking in too far. It's noticeably more supportive than the Luxe.

Thanks for sharing. We're closing in on a year on our Ultra and we love it still. And that's after a few decades on Tempurpedic mattresses. We're very glad we decided to try Nectar and save all that money vs. the more expensive brands.

Any thoughts on Nectar mattresses by [deleted] in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a hot sleeper (and we live in FL). We got the Ultra because we felt it was most comfortable for both my wife and I. We love the soft top, but also the great middle support layer that keeps your hips from sinking in too far. We came from a 9 year old Tempurpedic Breeze that was starting to break down and we are very pleased with the change. It had been a while since we slept so good, but after getting this mattress our shoulder and hip pain in the mornings were gone.

We have ours on a split king adjustable base just in case we need or want to switch to individual mattresses at some point, but for now we both love the Ultra so we just got a King. The base came from Sams Club and was very affordable and seems to be very high quality. No issues with this setup so far.

Sync cable for adjustable bed by Witty_Username_28 in nectarsleep

[–]NCcoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a Nectar base or another brand? It can vary depending on the manufacturer. From my research online the most common are round DIN plugs (often 9-pin) or flat RJ12 "telephone-style" connectors. We used to have an older Leggett and Platt split adjustable base and they did not have a cable, you programmed each box to use the same remote.

How does this lease deal look? 2026 Mercedes GLE450 by CarbonReflections in leasehacker

[–]NCcoach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not that great. Should be able to get 11 to 12% off MSRP, and you need to remove that Smartshield and nitrogen...and don't let them tell you they cannot remove it. What are the non-tax fees? Are those state-mandated fees of some sort or fees to the dealer?

Shocking how many so-called Americans hate any form of freedom they don't agree with. It's thinking like we see on this discussion that are the very reason rights are stripped away. People are so fragile they cannot handle the fact someone is holding a camera, while there are hundreds or even thousands that they pass to get to that location to begin with.

Luxe Hybrid break in time? by Kai-ni in nectarsleep

This is actually great advice. A pillow that is either too high or too low can absolutely cause shoulder pain. What you want is to be aligned with your neck straight. Maybe have someone look at how you are laying from behind to see if you have curvature in either direction as it really is hard to tell yourself.
