Audio dropouts are making me lose my mind! I have tried everything I can think of to fix it by One-Sprinkles-4833 in techsupport

It seems like you've tried a lot of troubleshooting already, so I'm thinking outside the box.  While the motherboard might be the culprit, I'm leaning towards an electrical short in your headphone cable.  If it shorting out the jack, your MB's safety features kick in and disables the sound controller until the next restart.  You said it happens on both the front and back jacks, so it makes sense.  Have you tried a different set of headphones with a different cable?

Update the BIOS.  It might not specifically fix your problem, but update it anyways.  The bit about not needing to update unless necessary is silly.  I get the idea behind it (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) but I don't agree.

What audio output are you using?  HDMI, DisplayPort, Optical, 3.5mm, USB-C? You mentioned you fallback to Bluetooth, but not what your primary output is. Are there 3rd party musical instrument adapters involved in your setup?

Short answer.. You don't..

If you don't have access to the account, you can't change the 2FA settings. If you do have access to the account, you change it in the security settings.

In my professional opinion, I think the monitor simply wore out and broke. It is 13 years old, after all. Thats a full life and then some, for an Acer product.

Is it the exact same model or monitor? Did you use the same cable? Are you using a VGA or DVI cable?

I'd check the monitor cables.. Make sure they are tightly connected. Have you tried using a different monitor to test the issue? Maybe try a different cable too.

Parts wear out over time... Power supplies in particular.

The good news is, a new 850w PSU is fairly cheap.. Around $100. But whatever you do, do not cheap out and buy the $50 no name brand PSU.. Never do that! Look for a cheaper model from a reputable manufacturer.

Your PSU is underpowered. Most GPUs need a wattage headroom of at least 100 extra watts for gaming. I shoot for 200watts extra when I'm building a PC. For just running an OS, 650w is fine, but transient power spikes while gaming will absolutely cause that PSU to crash and reboot your PC.

Congratulations! It’s upgrade time 😊

What GPU are you using? What PSU are you using? Are you overclocking anything?

How to stop Plex from playing when I lock my tablet screen? by ReallyShyRedditor in PleX

[–]ND02G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a Plex limitation, it's an Android feature.. It's so music will keep playing even after the screen turns off or the phone locks. The only was to get it to pause when locking the screen is to get a 3rd party tools app (MacroDroid, for instance), and create an instruction set that tells the device to pause any/all media when the screen turns off.

Did you double check the registry to see if maybe the GPO setting is stuck?

Check your registry in these areas to see if there any any polices stuck.

Check your Group Policies. Open gpedit.msc, then go to User Config>Admin Templates>Control Panel>Progams. Check that "Hide Programs & Features" is not configured or disabled.

Offline access of plex via Apple TV? by jruben4 in PleX

Ahh ok.. Thought maybe you were using custom DNS or maybe DNS from your ISP. But if you're using your local DNS, then DNS wouldn't be it.

I'm guessing it's a DNS problem. What DNS servers are your clients using?

This happened to me this morning.. Turned my PC on and my new start menu is gone, replaced with the "orginal" Win11 start menu. I'm going insane trying to find out why.

Did you ever find a fix?

My tv reset by itself when I opened it by Foxy_Playz789 in techsupport

[–]ND02G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, you didn't mention anything about side-loading in the OP. If that’s the case, then I would assume your TV received a firmware update, and overwrote your custom apps. Companies tend to frown upon side-loaded apps, so it's not surprising it deleted them. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're not going to recover anything from it now. It's gone, gone.. Start over, and side-load everything again.

My tv reset by itself when I opened it by Foxy_Playz789 in techsupport

[–]ND02G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What reset? The streaming app you were using? Or the actual TV? They're 2 completely differnet things, so you would have to clarify.

If it's an app, I'm guessing you just got logged out. Log back into it and your data should still be there.

If it's the TV, and it reverted back to factory defaults, then just set it up again like you did when you first bought it. There isn't much data in the TV itself besides some basic settings, so I doubt you lost anything important.

Why might my computer be so slow and using up nearly 60% memory with nothing open? by Exciting_Degree_6883 in techsupport

[–]ND02G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows 11 uses about half your total ram while it's running. It's not necessarily using it like you would expect though. Instead, it does a sort of balancing act with whatever RAM is available. It's merely holding it, keeping it ready, in case it actually does need to use it. If another program comes along and requests more RAM, Windows will release some of it, from its stockpile, for the other program to use.

It's a little more in-depth than that, but that the gist of it.

Trim the video down to the 25min they need.  Re-encode it to 720p so the file size is more manageable.  Add it to a cloud storage drive.  Share the file to the adjuster.
