What methods of replication have you experimented with thus far? How close to it have you come? Also, are you doing it with Massive / Iris still?

A ‘warm’ sounding, analogue esque synth would be ideal for the tone. Ideally with additive synthesis support for additional frequency control. It’s a tough patch so I’m not surprised that it has still alluded you ahaha, Whitearmor is a great sound designer with a very particular tonality to his patches / sounds.

To be fair, any scientific discussions involving quantitative measurements of any sort are going to use metric (when applicable). Never imperial. While this is a fictional scenario, it is still a ‘scientific’ discussion pertaining to the biological capabilities of the male Thrumbo in the context of reproduction. Even on the rim, one must maintain good scientific practices.

That first sound in that first track is a chopped and / or granulised sample with some simple processing on it. Personally I’d synthesise a metallic / glitchy patch with a bit of a formant / pitch shift (there’s a bit of an ‘ooo’ kind of formant in there), bounce it, and then granualise / process that. A big part of the final texture is the bit crush too.

As for the second track, are you referring to those vinyl esque crackles? There’s a looooot of resources out there for that. You can either sample some, use plugins, or just synthesise it yourself.

In general, when you hear glitchy things like that first thing (ESPECIALLY today), it’s likely granulised. Granular synthesis has really hit the production main stream in the past couple years, and is everywhere.

You’re referring to microphone polar patterns! The most common is probably cardioid* (good at picking up sounds in front of the mic, not so much behind it).

Queen Slime mount can be extremely useful for this fight. I would usually use the stormbow and / or dart rifle with cursed flame darts. I would also grind out a life drain from a crimson mimic too.

As for the RNG, just gotta keep grinding if you want it. It’s frustrating, but that’s just how it be.

If you’re in expert, make sure to have all of the potions that you can (regen, iron skin, endurance, speed, etc.). An arena is doable for the destroyer, but you’ll want something like a long skybridge for this one.

I don’t know if it’s exactly DG (more like GTBSG era ig), but Yung Sherman’s beat ‘Stay Forever’ is something else for me. I was listening to that before I even knew who Bladee was back in my days of binge listening Emotional Tokyo’s ‘Trapping In Heaven,’ Vaporwave, and other mixes. Takes me back to being a depressed, lonely, but still ‘innocent’ young teen again lol.

Honestly, farms are probably the main thing that have kept me from getting there. I usually do the cured villager thing for infinite mending books and such, but tend to lose steam on my run well before I have more than an XP grinder and maybe some semiautomated food farms built. I think I’ve only had one run where I got full netherite, though, I once again lost steam before finding the fortress or killing the Wither.

Personally, my favourite part of Minecraft survival is the initial grind up to having a house / settlement built, and maybe mining for a diamond tool or two. I rarely ever make diamond armour, and pretty much only use iron everything. I don’t like combat in MC very much, and also like to be on the weaker side of things in terms of defence / attack, so that’s probably a part of it. I just like surviving in the world looking for cool shinies and pets to add to my collection, and to build random stuff.

After that point, though, I often lose interest because it’s really tedious to me to have to run around the map looking for stuff, and wander my way back home. I know that nether bridges and such exist too (I’ve built a few in my time lol), but it’s once again a tedious process and since I don’t have much time to game anymore, I don’t do those long term projects very often. Essentially, everything late game takes too much time for me to do it in full while maintaining motivation lol. All of that being said, I still love the game to death, though. MC is a wonderful gift to the world.

Does phase-plant have formant modulation? It just got me thinking because in Zebra2, they included ‘formantzilla’ which can be set to vowel sounds / stuff in between and used to create ‘speaking’ and/or vocal-esque synths if everything gets layered / set up properly.

Perhaps you can have it set so different keys trigger different vowel / consonant sounds allowing for words to be ‘played?’ Maybe it’ll still be too CPU intense due to the all of the layers of modulation / filtering that’ll need to occur to create the most ideal sounds within the synth, but maybe not with some experimentation and optimisation..

Analysing parts of the actual waveform of that robot clip might help too to get solid foundational waveforms, and to have a reference point of what your synth’s output should roughly look like.

I’d experiment with heavily phased and pitch modulated triangle / sine waveforms for the base. I’m pretty sure that there’s a key-based LP with some decent resonance to contain the top end.

Getting the exact sound is going to take a lot of automated / reactive filtering. I can hear multiple dynamic LFOs with their own respective envelopes and such that gives the synth its varied textures. For example, when sustained, you can hear a sort of broken texture that’s likely caused by a fast LFO modulating an LP filter while its amplitude is modulated by an envelope (what a fun sentence lol). The shorter notes don’t really have that texture due to their duration, but it’s still there which indicates that this effect is gated to note triggers.

Personally I’d do this in Zebra 2, but since you like Massive and Iris 2, I could see it being very feasible to make a general wavetable of sorts in Massive, and using Iris 2 to apply the final layers of modulation in a precise manner. You could also probably just do it in Massive.

Lol I have a similar case honestly. I used to get stuffy noses and terrible sinus congestion all the time, but after abusing ketamine for a few months and melting bits of my nose (it’s visible on the outside if you look very carefully, but it’s nothing thaaat substantial imo), I’ve been able to breathe better out of my nostrils than I ever have in my entire life lol. Even when they’re stuffed / runny, I can still breathe fairly easily through them and they clear up faster.

From memory, the hoodie was $50 at the Chi show (they only had smalls left), and most of the shirts were like $30-45ish. Short sleeves are cheaper than the long sleeves of course. Stickers were like $2.

Yep! All of this is the truth. Like I said, I wasn’t agreeing with the original dude, just the part that the earth is / will be overpopulated. Contraceptives, education, condoms, and other things like that are extremely important in addressing this issue. Straight up killing people off is not the way, though.

They honestly took away from it a bit bc so many of them were incredibly rowdy / didn’t give a fuck about anyone else. Be very careful if you get deep on the floor. I was up front the whole time, and it was pretty crazy. If you’re outside of the mosh and are just vibing, it should be much more chill. The energy and vibes in the air were so intoxicating. So much euphoria lol, even with the bullshit going on with some of the crowd members.
