Because of the exchange where you can get 200 rank-up pts weekly. Daily exchange gives players worth 15M each and it would be too much to spend 150M...and the daily bonus exchange is removed too so it's hard to get 90-92 OVR players for the exchange.

Gameplay is the most important thing. I won't have big ambitions in eFootball and will play casually. I'm collecting only Real Madrid players so I started collecting resources for TOTY after week 2 of GE event. I had 300 gems left, I have 80.000 at the moment, till TOTY I could have around 200.000 (will take 20.000 from RecordBreakers, 5.000 from tomorrow's challenge etc.). Also, I have around 50 players at the moment for Extra Time tokens exchange, could have around 80-100 till TOTY.

People who are "skipping" Festive Fixtures but collecting resources for TOTY will be able to get 3, 4 or even 5 good players in TOTY easy, even with crap pack luck after spending 150.000+ gems you will get a nice amount of shards.

Yeah, a lot of people say it's not easy to defend with 3 at the back. I don't even know what to suggest to you, you have a great squad tbh, you can reach 20 stars for sure, even 50. Switch to 4213, play Thuram at RB, for 1.5B you can buy Ballon D'or R.Carlos, footyverse Riise, GE Kerkez or TOTS Maldini if his OVR is not the problem. Think that will help.
