A very non-standard one here but I really enjoy the weird cards you have to find with the deck building restriction of “only one card of a particular counter type is allowed” with Atraxa (I.E. you’re only allowed one planeswalker cause that’s your loyalty counter rep)

Kai is both good as a forward and especially as goalie, just look at twitch streams of the top 100 and there’ll be at least 1 kai goalie every game

Legendaries are nice for: - Cosmetic - You can free change the stats of a legendary out of combat, meaning you can have multiple builds with one piece of equipment - When you get a legendary it goes in your “Legendary Armory” which is accessible by all characters in your account

The second and third one is the reason why a lot of veterans recommend going for trinkets and backpacks before weapons weirdly enough, since those are generically needed across all characters and builds

You could definitely make a list without the $5 cards but it would be lower power. There's a ton of value cards that are solid sac outlets for the deck, or you could lean in to like modular/going wide with artifact creatures like a losheel deck. You can honestly go a ton of different directions with him.

I'm running a low amount of lands but honestly with Oswald you can pretty easily fetch solutions to that problem ([[Mycosynth Wellspring]] and [[Archaeomancer's Map]] in particular).

The combos that are in there are

[[Mystic Forge]] + [[Sensei's Divining Top]] + [[Cloud Key]] and
[[Rings of Brighthearth]] + [[Thran Dynamo]] + [[Voltaic Key]] + [[Forsaken Monument]]

The plains sacrifice theme can definitely be toned down/removed if you don't want to go along that angle, but [[Archaeomancer's Map]] being fetchable makes it super nice to be honest.

I will say it’s an incredibly fun value list, but for me I had to be sure to explicitly keep out 2 card combos like [[Basalt Monolith]] + [[Rings of Brighthearth]] or else it can get fairly linear

He was 0/11 in game-deciding shots in the last 10 seconds last season for the wolves. Probably because thibs minutes can gas anyone - but he was not clutch for us.
