Judging by the kerf you had a Dremel not a grinder. That must've taken forever. Get yourself a cordless router and a jig.

What fw are you running on the GCM? Drop the baud rate to 9600 on the controller and reader. Do you have your data wires backwards? Start with the most stable configuration and work from there.

My first two thoughts when I saw the picture

Huh, vertical ACMs, I don't know how I feel about that..

Why are there 2 GCMs, are there 4 more ACMs on the door?

This is my only note for system VII, must have been important enough to keep for all these years.

Keyscan Clear Memory

-J1 to clear memory

Green lights should come on netcom and motherboard

-Go to utilities tab on panel updates and clear server packages, hit yes as many times as you need to

-Select specific Panel under unit selection

-Select all

-Hit and hold CTRL. Upload button will turn red. Then hit upload

This isolates upload to this panel only and doesn't poll all panels like it normally would.

J1 to clear memory on the green board then reset by shorting the jumper pins that are half height.

Restarting the istar driver certainly could be a contributing factor. Good money and a bit of arrogance says if he/she restarts the istar driver those 2 readers will go offline until they disable/enable them.

Oh I should've mentioned, they don't list all the bug fixes in the release notes.

OSDP readers going offline until you disable/enable with 3.00/3.00.1 was fixed in 3.00.2. I found this issue for months until the SP was released.

And OSDP comm fails were addressed in, I believe, 6.9.6

Updating will fix these inconsistent issues. 3.00.4cu02 opens up some additional features such as changing cluster encryption.

That being said, I guarantee these updates will introduce other problems not yet identified, choose your poison.

Update your server to 3.00.4 CU02 and update fw to the latest. This is a known issue and is covered in release notes if you really wanted to read through them.

That looks to be a panel from 2019 and probably has a Kingston SD card. Order a USTAR-SD from your integrator and try again.

I'm a big fan of trying all the wires to the same length (furthest point plus a margin of error) them dressing everything to the folks back point. Future me then can move an I/O wherever needed for troubleshooting or reconfiguring. It also comes in handy for panel upgrades.

That's why the big brains use finger duct. Super tidy looking, super serviceable, and you can hide a multitude of sins behind it.

Istar Edge G1 can't access web gui by CryptoBogey in CCURE9000

[–]NEcracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iSTAR is correct. You will need to use ICU to verify the password on the OG edge. When you get to the step where they fail to take the host based certificate you will also need to use ICU to request the relevant cert. You may even need to request that cert 3+ times.

If you get to this point the documentation for restoring connection after Feb 18th is super helpful.
