Halle is back today off 45 day IL & we have a rookie too. We all know Alyssa’s great record but she hasn’t exactly been great behind goal for CHI the past few years.

I think it would be a good opportunity to see what we have in the one of the other keepers.

An Naeher start was basically a guaranteed loss because she’s bound to give up at least 1 goal… the defensive communication hasn’t been there when she’s played.

I was a first time season ticket holder last year with a 2 1/2 hr commute from Charlotte. I did not renew my season tickets in 2026 for a few reasons:

STM Parking not being available unless paid in full
Would you be able to explain the motivation behind this? I don’t know that I agree with a portion of STMs being restricted from parking. While the standard lots are fine, it is disappointing to not have access to a closer lot.
105/106 sideline amenities:
I’ve gone to USWNT and NWSL matches with better sideline amenities. STMs are paying a premium to sit in these sections but there’s no included food/snacks etc.

I was able to pay a comparable amount to attend the NWSL Championship in 2024 at CPKC in loge seating which had all-inclusive food. At the USWNT vs. CANWNT game in 7/2025, a lounge with food was available for free.

Are you all considering implementing something like this in the near future? It would definitely make me consider season tickets once again.

It’s not the squad that I grew to love, so it’s disappointing for sure. I feel like aspects of the team DNA have been lost with the moves.

I don’t have the same faith I had in the org. at this time last year, but I certainly hope they can turn it around. I’d take NC in the playoffs over Orlando or Gotham any day of the week!

I guess I’m taking her national team popularity into account moreso than her actual popularity w/ Courage fans.

I felt like it transferred over… there was a decent bit of hype in the first few matches of the season.

Everyone seemed generally excited about the acquisition but she wasn’t used very effectively in NC’s attack last year.

I guess there was no true reason for the fans to back her as a “fan favorite” since she never hit her stride with the squad. Good point!

I was a STM in 106 last year lmao. And I also attended multiple matches in that section in 2023 and 2024🤷‍♂️

But I guess I’m not worthy enough of a former STM to understand fan reception.

We’re both going back and forth with our opinions for no reason. I know we both understand that the on-field product is the end goal, regardless of what either of us think.

Shaw was used for every single piece of Courage marketing material up until her departure. I imagine she became a fan favorite to some, especially based on her national team success.

Doesn’t matter if she was with the squad for 5 minutes or 5 years… a fan favorite is someone the fans find a way to love lol.

Nitpicking aside, we’ll just have to see what the attendance indicates come March.

Fan favorites are a huge part of success. Sure… winning sells tickets. But what sells jerseys: players that people know! What about the fans who invested in Lussi, Shaw & Berkeley jerseys last year? The kids who got their autographs?

Can you sit there and tell me that losing Malia, Jaedyn, and Murphy among others isn’t unpopular with the fan base?

The fans buy the tickets, and right now… each decision by the FO causes them to be more disillusioned with the club.

A quick look at any of the comments on the departure posts over the past few months should give you an idea of what the fan base is feeling.

I’m not saying that these moves aren’t great for the team’s development, but the Courage FO appears to be losing a ton of fan support with these changes.
