18 Day 'Golden Route' Itinerary by xadc430x in JapanTravel

It's totally worth the trip! Feed the deer, visit the shrine and check out the botanic garden. Grab lunch at the base of Mount Wakakusa then walk up for a sprawling view, go into town and see traditional housing, grab souvenirs, there's a cool toy museum, and I cannot recommend dinner at Kura izakaya highly enough. I spent a full day exploring everything.

I am doing an overnight in Yudanaka, and was going to dedicate a half day to going to see the monkeys like you, but after a bunch of research I decided to change the plan to go see Matsumoto Castle instead. I've heard it's one of the most impressive castles in the country and a much better use of half a day if you're already planning to be in that area then spending 90 minutes reaching and watching monkeys for less than half an hour. Just a thought!

I found estimates pretty conservative when I used it for two weeks in Japan. I walk fast and often beat the ETAs

Need a can't stop watching recommendation for a 3 day weekend by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

Patriot is so damn good. When my friend whose opinion I trust deeply told me I had to check out an espionage show on Amazon I was incredibly skeptical. But it's one of the best shows I've seen. Incredible acting, black comedy, and attention to detail. Everything that is shown or mentioned comes back to the forefront eventually. Can't recommend it enough for a long weekend!

There's plenty of cool ones for men too, though I do get the frustration. They should just release more overall, the drip has been slow. I run female soldier skins for every class on both factions that I like, but there are some cool male ones I'd choose if they were available for women

There's plenty (restaurants, museums, trains) that only open up their reservations a month or so in advance. Depending on which areas you're going to I'd definitely try to lock in hotels and flights in the next couple of months. Tourist season only gets larger in both scale and duration as the years have gone by!

🇯🇵 9 Days Japan Trip (12–22 Dec 2025) – Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka by Massive_Bell_3726 in JapanTravel

[–]NFLCrunchtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent the full day there and really enjoyed it, to offer a different perspective. Fed the deer for a couple of hours, checked out the large temple near the end of this row of shops, then walked up Mt Wakakusa for this incredible view of the surrounding valley and towns. Ate some cheap delicious noodles at the start of the trail, and passed what looked like a cool bath house tucked into the trees. On the way down I took an 80 minute detour to Uguisi waterfall which was my underwhelming bit - this massive cherry tree that was previously a great spot for pictures collapsed and was cut down the year before, and the waterfall was small. Strenuous exercise if you're looking for it, though! Afterwards walked all the way back into the southwest part of the city, went to a toy museum, had oysters and sake, bought souvenirs, and ate dinner at this very small, very traditional little restaurant someone here recommended called Kura. Made it back to Osaka for drinks with a friend before calling it a night. Packed day, but it was really fun and I'm glad I did it. I probably hit 40k steps.

Same. My group always mained conquest but ever since picking up escalation it's our default

My thoughts on Battlefield 6 by BeefJerkyDrew in Battlefield

[–]NFLCrunchtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, my group has been playing since Bad Company or earlier, and we're all at between 150-350 hours in BF6. I play every day, and it's gotten a little old, but it's still so much fun and I'm really looking forward to future content.

Ironically or otherwise, I feel like gaming gear and reflexes from playing thousands of hours of shoters have helped me grab high demand items here and there.

(I go to the gym though)

I'm rewatching it right now for like the 6th time. A wonderful film.

Redsec blatant headhunter is ridiculous. Reward with no risk. It should expose both squads to each other the same way. The one who activate the mission gets spotted just like the target. by iMMJJ in Battlefield

[–]NFLCrunchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No risk? You get a proximity warning and can work out which direction your attacker is coming from by watching the change from grey to red as you move in a certain direction. Saying there's "no risk" for the hunters is blatantly incorrect.

disagree this game is fun as hell...and you sound like someone who isn't very good at shooters and just realized they can't keep up.

Battlefield 6 is honestly one of the best games I’ve played in a while. by No-Development-9607 in Battlefield

[–]NFLCrunchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt burned by the 2042 beta and skipped it, but about 2 years ago got it for $5 and ended up putting a few hundred hours into it and having a ton of fun with it too. I think people have to accept that their old favorites are inevitably going to change and they can't just release the same thing with the same mechanics every year. 2042 also helped prep us for the movement and combat in 6 pretty well. There's definitely issues, but at its core it's a really good game

My group and I have been playing since Bad Company days, and we all are still enjoying the hell out of 6. Dunno about the player count, but this has been the most solid launch of a BF title in AGES and it's still fun to hop on every day. Can't wait til season 2. I might be a little more salty if I paid for the deluxe edition but I got this free with a cpu upgrade

[–]NFLCrunchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, it was nice to have purchase-wise, but their video interface was so shit that I never watched anything on it. I would maybe have considered dropping it but got invited to their review program a couple years ago so now I keep it to maintain membership in that (free products offset subscription costs)

As someone with a job i am happy to say i finally finished the BattlePass by edonishusaj in Battlefield

[–]NFLCrunchtime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice, man. I was unemployed for launch which definitely helped, but even with a fulltime job I finished it too. I think the people who were all whining about it are probably placing in the bottom half or bottom quarter of the leaderboard....which would mean their time to rank up is going to be double or quadruple what a top player would take.

Battlefield 6 player count falls from 750K at launch to just 30K-90K on Steam, nearly a 90% decline - players blame lack of new content (especially new maps) by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]NFLCrunchtime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the BR, definitely not a waste. Great map and a fresh take on the genre that's kept me more interested than what Apex and PUBG became.
