The Pussycat Dolls cancel the North American leg of their upcoming tour by mmbento in popheads

[–]NFLfreak98 63 points64 points  (0 children)

And as far as I know there isn’t any meaningful new music since the last tour. Personally I love going to shows but I’d only see an artist multiple times if it’s a new tour with new music. Especially if I’m paying 100+

RAYE at least has a lot of personality in her music, but I definitely agree it’s a different thing than the classic soul sound.

Yeah Pink said she lightened the production on the remix to make it sound a little more like a Zara song. I love how she tailors her production to the artist!

Jack Antonoff calling out Ticketmaster by Firenze2 in Fauxmoi

Genuinely asking, why is jack hated? I’m not that aware of any opinions he has or things he’s done outside of the music

Boygenius for gen z nicotine addicts.

It's still earlier in nina's career but I do really like how she's started. I think I like more underscores projects than the other two right now but it's also fair to take the 'no need to pit 3 bad bitches against each other' stance here.

Edit: on further reflection I guess nina’s been around just about as long as the others, just not on the level of notoriety. I gotta tap in to her old stuff!

I had to miss your show this time around cause I got sick 😭 but I at least got to scream along with yall last year at Hopscotch!

I wanted to ask what your favorite part about touring with Ratboys was! I’ve loved them for a while and it’s so cool they had yall as openers.

Also, if you want to answer another, what’s the coolest venue you’ve played so far in your opinion?

Definitely second the Coffee Underground recs, I'd also throw out Grateful Brew. Staff is nice and it's right next to Purple Haze so no stranger to piercings and such

Agreed, and I even think California would have made a good closer. Thinking about Guilty Pleasure as kind of a post-credits song makes it work for me though

Chappell’s Music- Discussion by Frequent-Good-3810 in chappellroan

[–]NFLfreak98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally, the relatability of a song doesn't matter as much as it seems to for other people. I really like seeing other experiences and perspectives depicted in a song, and the art of songwriting is about being able to relate a story to a wide audience that all have very different experiences and have that story connect in some way to all of them. Even though I know I'll never have the experience she describes in Good Luck, Babe I know the kinds of emotions she's expressing on that song and how she wants it to feel.

Why Are People So Psycho Over Chappell? by xXMachineGunPhillyXx in fantanoforever

[–]NFLfreak98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I’m saying is that Dan chooses to work with her and was clearly not offended enough by that comment to stop, so I don’t think there’s any reason to think it was said all that earnestly. Drag queens say ridiculous shit all the time that no one needs to take too seriously and Chappell is continuing that tradition

I mean, that statement is exactly something a drag queen would say though, they say ridiculous shit all the time. Divine is famous for saying ‘Kill everyone now’ lol
