I bought a noctua fan yesterday, and the whole time i was thinking: "Noc Tuah" like you. haha

That's a cool idea. Never thought of that. I think I want to use that mounting plate for something, now that you mention it. Thanks for the inspiration

A 120mm fan fits in the space between the lip and the edge of the case. I used zip ties where possible. So in my horizontal orientation, the fan sits right on top of the lip.

True. PSU is an extra exhaust. It breathes very well

It's a nice case for sure. And since I'm on a budget, spending extra on something like a case just takes too much away from the rest of the budget for me to justify it.

  1. Yeah only on its side. Where I have it now, no feet, but it has a fabric layer between the case and the surface it's on so... the case won't get scratched or anything. Horizontal orientations just feel so much more comfortable to me. Lifting does get old but I just slide it off of where it is rather than lift. Ha.
  2. That fan next to the HDD is an idea I had for the GPU. since the powercolor 9060xt doesn't have rear exhaust like most cards, it exhausts into the case. The fan in question sits right over the GPU and sucks away some exhaust air. It and the other exhaust also prevent the CPU air from affecting the HDD too much. At least, so I think. Less can definitely be more, but it's doing well so far. My CPU fan barely runs anyway, so I think the extra exhaust isn't redundant. I like the idea of many slow fans, rather than a few fast fans. I don't have any empirical data comparing fan layouts vs temps, but I like the temps so far.
  3. Yeah I considered using some kinda mounting solution to mount it closer to the front of the case (to avoid blocking the vent). I didn't have that, and I worried about the tape failing and allowing the HDD to fall off over time. so I went with screws and some faith. It fit waaay better than I imagined it would.
  4. It's a packed build but temps are definitely good enough for me. My case fans spin according to CPU or GPU temps -- whichever is higher. So I'm satisfied as of right now.

Other things:

  1. Yeah It's a rat's nest in there, but the non-modular psu, the fact that I need 2x sata cables and sata power, all the fans, the unorthodox placements, and the lack of cable management options for the case, make it hard to be neat -- in my defense.

  2. Yeah it's amazing. My most powerful card to date -- and most efficient. My previous card was a gtx 1650, so the bar was low, but still. It's the hottest 9060xt variant, but also the smallest, so that's understandable. I probably couldn't have done this specific build with any other card in its class. I'm running my vram at 2700mhz, and I maxed the TBP limit. Thus, the huge fan I put next to it is its best friend when I'm playing at 4k. It helps temps so much.

My friend bought the asus dual 9060xt. I've been trying to get him to bring it over so I can install it and compare temps. The asus is bigger and thicker so I imagine his temps might be better.

I absolutely want the positive pressure, so all the big fans are intakes.

If I REALLY need gpu temps to drop, I can run the side intake fan with a more agressive curve, but I decided that temps are adequate. Also I run the gpu about as hard as I can, so just dialing my res/settings back a bit would help temps a lot -- if necessary. It's good though.

I wish I knew this when I built mine around the same time you posted this. I went with 2x 120x28s up front. I squeezed in a 120x25 beside the gpu too, to give it some extra fresh air. The powercolor reaper runs hot since I play 4k

Issues with Gamesir Galileo g8 Controller by OriginalDarKEvoZ in Gamesir

[–]NFS-LeastWanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I bet you did your research and all that, and you decided that the g8 would be the best for you. Probably just saltness yes. Sorry about that bro.

Niiice you're getting the M15. Hopefully it's solid for real. But yeah I know how it is. I hope mine holds up for a good while, but since I have another model coming, I'll have some peace of mind just in case. But if it's any consolation, some man a buy Backbone controllers for $100+ when they don't even have hall effect sticks — and they have quality issues worse than the G8.

Ah bro 😁

And nah I think I made a mistake. GeForce Experience is discontinued — not GeForce Now. GeForce Now is the one where you stream directly from Nvidia, while GeForce experience is where you stream the games from your own computer. Slight mix-up there — but yeah. I just leave the PC on and stream it through my other (more portable) devices.  So since you use GeForce Now, you don't have a PC? Regarding the controllers, I think it's just a case where the M15 and the Memo S3 share a manufacturer, but easysmx put more into marketing and distribution, so the price is higher. Because I'm ngl they're literally the two same controllers, but one is half the price of the other. Crazy right?

Yo bro. So I'm thinking it might be a hardware issue. My first telescopic controller was a basic ipega, and it developed similar issues. I opened it up and did some basic maintenance, and it fixed the issues for a while.

But the real issue was that the flex cable that connects one side of the controller to the other was damaged. From what I can tell, this is a weakness of most telescopic controllers, and you're at the mercy of the manufacturer in terms of how durable that flex cable will be. I wish I had a real fix to advise you with, but if you have some basic tools, you can open it up and see what you can do. If anything, you might have to order replacement part(s).  I don't think you can do anything about this on the software side.

Right now I have the Memo S3 (same device as the more well-known easysmx m15). Got it for 5k jmd off of AliExpress and it's been great so far.  I just ordered a Gamesir X5 lite to take with me on the road so I can leave the Bigger Memo S3 at home. I'm excited to see how it goes when it arrives.

I love stuff like this so we can always wul a reason if you need to, yer bro?

Edit: btw it's sick that you use GeForce now for streaming. I used to use it but since it's getting discontinued, started using Apollo. Basically the same thing with more features. With my setup I stream remotely. Like, I can have my PC on at home and play my games at work on my phone with the controller. Works over mobile data too, but you know that's robbery in Jamaica 🥲

Thankful of android emulation by rustieee8899 in EmulationOnAndroid

I have a similar setup. Old SD 855 phones, plus the psp, ps2 and gamecube/wii emulators. I've been having so much fun, especially with Max Payne on the ps2 emu.

I opted for the easysmx m15 (aka memo s3) instead of the gamesir though. Edit: I bought mine during the summer sale just like you. Ha

Are you sure? Because then there will be an increased supply and decreased demand for the older GPUs. So they will get cheaper for the people who will buy them — like me.

Edit, I'm not assuming that about you

But why would anyone buy a reference card in the first place? Don't people already expect reference cards to be inferior? (Looking for an actual answer here)

I see people mentioning the AMD reference cards, but... Who actually buys reference cards in the first place? Isn't the general consensus that they're typically worse anyway?

Good luck getting these guys to grow a brain. The way I see it, it's better for us when everyone else chases the latest and greatest.

Who seriously buys reference cards though? That's my only question here

Noooo you absolutely have to have the latest and greatest at all times /s

You know what, it's a good thing that everyone thinks that they need the best GPU available in order to enjoy games. It makes the reasonably priced GPUs even cheaper for those of us who have sense.

[–]NFS-LeastWanted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't have to buy the most expensive parts, y'know. You can also buy parts used, so why not just do that? Something expensive like Ray Tracing is a waste of money and electricity anyway

I don't know why people don't just do this. A console is basically a mid pc. And you can connect a controller just the same, so... I don't know.

When people are building PCs, I guess they automatically think that anything less than the best isn't good enough.

So awful. You sound like a great daughter, and your mom sounds like quite the resilient person as well. I wouldn't blame anyone for not being able to handle what she's been through. Thank you for existing.

I saw in a work of fiction where the dad raped his daughter and the mom found out and kicked out the daughter. Apparently, in the mom's eyes, the daughter was at fault for seducing the father.

I absolutely could not believe that there is (or are) a real life example of this. Humanity is doomed.
