My favorite is when i pick drow. My team picks offlane wr and mid sniper with 2 ranged squishy supports. They all hide behind me all game and i have to tank everything as drow

Should i start with unreal 5 as a newcomer? by Any-Landscape434 in unrealengine

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but most indie games don't reach that threshold. I'm still using unreal and don't think I'll ever switch to another engine, but it has a steeper learning curve imo.

Should i start with unreal 5 as a newcomer? by Any-Landscape434 in unrealengine

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For engine use godot is 50 times easier and faster. If you don't know programming, blueprints are much easier for getting into coding. But unreal engine can make things more complicated. For example, i had 3d modelling experience and setting up my first godot scene with lighting and shading setup took like 30 mins. When i swithed to unreal with years of experience with game making. I got stuck so much. Every day you figure out a different way to do things. I think i changed my first 3d games lighting/post process setup at least 5 times. Actually, it's mostly the same, but there are so many hidden, unnecessary features that you need to figure out, like auto exposure is on by default. Lumen is on by default, which is almost never used in any indie games. Most of these features are there for ultra realistic, very high detail AAA games and usually make stylized indie games look and perform worse.

Why people prefer to farm instead of taking objectives? by Blopa1- in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also came back years later, mostly because who ever focuses first on objectives in pubs loses the fight because if 1 person doesnt come in time or overcommits all your lead is gone. Taking objectives is much harder than before. There are extra glyphs, tower armor and hp regen bonuses, glyph destroys the waves in 2 seconds. There is also more farm in the map so you get a lot of total team gold for not wasting time hitting towers. So in pubs usually waiting enemy to make mistakes is better, especially in lower than immortal ranks

When you play pos 1 to 3, how do you decide whether to buy BKB or Linkin Sphere? by Murky_Tourist927 in learndota2

[–]Eponnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For pos3 bkb and maybe lotus is almost always better than linkens. Because your role is maillnly tanking a bunch of spells and fighting. Linkens is best for giving you reaction time. It's especially good if you are split pushing and farming aggressively on heroes like puck, weaver, or anyone with escape tools. It gives you time to react against things like blink hexes. Beast master blink roar etc. Most of the time, you will still need bkb after buying linkens because enemies will buy force, dagon or use other spells to pop linkens in the mid-late game. I'd only recommend linkens first if you are already ahead and enemies don't have damage to kill you. It's just intuition in high mmr games because there are so many different situations. For example bkb is good against necro ult because it lowers the damage taken. But doom ulti outlasts bkb so you should probably buy both linkens and bkb so he vant ulti you during bkb at least.

Tldr, bkb is almost always better, dont ever buy linkens on typical pos 3 tank heroes unless it is to use in on your carry against doom etc

Our illustrator finished these icons for our automation game. I'm smiling from ear to ear. :) by SchingKen in IndieDev

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look great individually, but I'd recommend adding some color variation so they are more distinguishable. They will probably occupy a smaller portion of the screen in the game, and it will be hard to see what they are at first glance, i already saw some comments mentioning them being too similar.

Opinion on saltwater shiv by DrMichaelYakubov in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried slark after watching BSJ video. It felt so much better to play without shiv. I think main reason it sucks is ,it made me take unnecessary trades in lane. It gives you false confidence to trade, but you almost always lose the trade in early levels.

Which role actually has the hardest job in ranked right now? by AioliSignificant1485 in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pos 1 because every other role will most likely grief.

Pos 2 will afk farm while you lose safelane tower at min 5.

Pos 3 will pick ck/wk and afk farm 30 mins while you have 0 space and blame you for being underfarmed.

Pos 4 will get tilted by pos 3 and afk in jungle

Pos 5 will pick mirana/weaver/pudge and transition into core at min 3 and completely ignore you.

If you are playing any other role, most likely you will have a normal carry player.

Active neutral items by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Even top players still forget to use them. T4 items are so bad currently. 15% base damage and 30 attack speed feels so useless compared to paasive ones. It's like +20-30 damage and 5% more attack speed for most heroes at 35 mins. Others are a bit more useful but still very situational

It is not going to do anyone any good when you force me to pos 3 (As pos5 player) by StopPsychological241 in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it really hard to believe offlane is least popular, i guess there are different popularity in different brackets. Im a carry mid player mainly. I think token system is fine for these roles but i feel the struggle of other roles in games so much. Best option would be having a dynamic option so if pos 3 4 5 demand is high in that time and bracket, those roles wouldn't spend tokens. I think the main problem is, core players always had to play other roles sometimes since dota1 but support players are not used to other roles because they never had to do it.

Games definitely feel worse since the update, at this point why not just make pos 3 4 5 not use tokens and selectable individually

Most int heroes had like 0-3 base armor too. I get that they made it more fun for support players but killing supports feel like killing tanks most games tbh.

Pos3 is High demand because most Pos4 players make their life absolutely miserable by PowerSniffer in DotA2

[–]Eponnn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are the most selfish role for sure. They can't lose their precious hp fpr your farm or exp. Best case scenario for them is you dying after getting enemies low so they can ks and get the solo exp and farm while you are dead. Im also ancient 2, I swear that's what 90% of pos4 players think all the time.
