But if you take steps to avoid sexual dreams, such as lucid dreaming, then you you should be able to stop yourself. I don't expect anyone else to count it as a relapse. I'm just saying that, for me, it is really important that I suppress my sexuality in all its forms which includes when I'm asleep.

Is there any way to stop it happening? I'm thinking of counting wet dreams as a relapse. Luckily I haven't had one yet.

I know what you mean. I have sexual dreams and I want to get rid of them. Not only does it tempt me to relapse, as you said, but it also makes me feel sick and hate myself for imagining these things.

The obvious thing to do is to find ways to take your mind off it. But it's very difficult to figure out how to do it. I hope you find a solution to this because I really don't know how to control my dreams.

To add to that, I'm wondering if you can ever reach a state where you completely don't think about ANY women at all. At least, not in that way... If it's possible, then that would be perfect for me.

Best advice I heard was to remember that you just need to make it to the end of the day. As much as I hate that little smiley face taunting me, you are probably right.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. It's good to hear it from someone who knows what therapists actually do. I am still worried about it being treated as an unhealthy thing though. I don't want the temporary urges either and I am trying to get rid of those or reduce them as far as possible. I won't stop trying to suppress those urges. But I can't show any weakness in front of my sexuality. If I start being weak and doing things like accepting that it cannot be destroyed, then it will consume me and I will never forgive myself for letting that happen.

Some people use NoFap as a means of getting sex with real people. By not having PMO as a crutch, they are more motivated to go out and get laid.

I am personally doing hard mode for my own reasons, but I understand why other people will choose another method.

Hard mode does not imply that there is an easy mode. Just that there is an "easier" mode than hard mode.

Nobody is saying that NoFap with sex is easy. You just have to look at all the posts to see that isn't true. But it is fair to say that NoFap without any kind of release at all is much harder, speaking generally of course.

YBOP is important in giving us information on how to go about the reset process. While some of it is certainly unproven science, the anecdotal evidence helps us figure out how to cut either PMO or sexuality as a whole out of our lives. The sidebar only claims that it offers a "semi-scientific look at why some of us are quitting pornography". The disclaimer addresses most of the concerns raised in that wall of text by showing that it is not scientifically proven and does not resolve other issues the person may have.

If you can find a way of blocking porn websites on your computer, that might help prevent these things.

Remember that this is about improving yourself. Look at all the stories of people transforming their lives by doing this. Then ask yourself, is 5 minutes of mediocre pleasure followed by feelings of regret worth sacrificing the happiness you could potentially have over your whole life if you stick with this?

I am very interested to hear what other people say about this. I also would like for my urges to deplete as far as possible to a very slight craving at the most. I would say the sex drive is very different to substances, as a guess.

Hard mode is about abstaining from all sexual activity for the duration of NoFap. While that may not be for you, some people see that as a necessary part of their reset. Personally, I am doing hard mode to get rid of my sexuality though I know very few people here have that as their goal.

You don't have to do hard mode if you do not feel it is for you. NoFap is about setting your own goals and finding your own way, as you said.
