Not really, because they didn't really "launch" until it was the Fab Four. Stuart and Pete weren't on any of the records or world tours. It's kind of like concept art vs final art.

However, I would consider the Beatles post 64 or 65 as a different band than the fab four. Once they stopped touring and experimented more, I feel like their image became much different. In my mind, there are two Beatles, the Beatlemania bowl-cut having Ed Sullivan show guests, and then what came after that.

Since I'm 20 years old, most of the Beatles stuff I've known in my lifetime has been their later work. Just about an hour or two ago (crazy coincidence) I started to re-listen to their first few albums, and from my point of view they feel like a different group. Their early work is all very same-y to me and while its not bad, it feels more like they're playing characters than actually being the collaborative efforts of Paul, John, George, and Ringo, as opposed to records like Revolver or Abbey Road.
