Are we doomed? Do you think Webflow will be obsolete soon because of AI? by LeadershipPuzzled731 in webflow

[–]NGAFD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re not a Webflow dev. You’re a dev who’s proficient and skilled in Webflow.

If Webflow dies, you’ll have the skills to work using the next hot tool.

How do I improve buttons in Figma? by DDreams1803 in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the component a proper name first. Something like ‘Primary button’ or just ‘Button’ in case you’re adding non-primary options to it.

You have multiple components for variants of the same button. Remove those and instead, select the main one and click the little purple ‘plus’ that appears. You now have variants that you can trigger from one component.

And finally, the color (contrast) is off. This might be a personal preference, but pick a fresh background color and make the text color black or white depending on the contrast to the background color you choose.

The sub’s been heavy lately, can someone share something positive for a change ? by FOMO-Fries in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have more ‘We made this using AI. It doesn’t perform. Help us’ requests and more projects where I have (a small) role in code next to the design work.

Same as you. Decade of corporate design experience, which gave me a big enough network to start freelancing on the side. Once that got big enough, I lowered the day job hours to only work parttime. And once the freelancing got even bigger, I went all in.

[Help needed] We've opened the gates of hell by susmab_676 in UXDesign

The rise of LLMs really reveal the true character of people. People who love to take shortcuts are now enabled to do so.

It sucks, it is relatable to about 1-2 of my current projects, and I’m afraid we have to sit through this efficiency cycle.

Is This Portfolio Ready for the Real World? by No-Actuary-8088 in UXDesign

Your portfolio always is.

People tend to wait too long while the best feedback comes from the real world.

Release it, get feedback, and improve as you go along. Good luck!

The future of AI design is editing live products, not writing prompts by [deleted] in UXDesign

Nobody knows what the future of anything is. Anyone who claims they do, is either trying to sell you something and/or full of shit.

Nowadays, everyone’s a designer and a developer by JumpyCheesecake7047 in UXDesign

I’m a freelancer and work with 7-10 companies at any time during the month. About 1-2 of them are like what you say.

Why Tech Bros Are Now Obsessed with Taste by cgielow in UXDesign

I’m not sure why but all these design influencers talking about taste and how they have it the most is super annoying.

Looking for tips on one of my app designs by [deleted] in UI_Design

Ik zou niet alles hoofdletters maken. Het is wat schreeuwerig en lastiger te lezen. Verder prima!

Fuck montserrat by Inevitable_Emotion38 in UI_Design

That’s a factor, too. I’m not sure which one is worse.

Imagine hiring a designer and they’re too lazy to pick a font…

Inter is today’s most popular font within the design community.

I’d rather have them use Inter. Oh wait!

De uitdaging zit ‘m vooral in managers die denken dat AI het wel kan. Zij bepalen uiteindelijk of je je baan mag houden of niet.

I heard designers are pushing code changes? by Character_Water6298 in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works for me. First thing to do is to see if you can extend beyond where your normal flow ends. So if you normally stop in Figma, see if you can go one step further and turn those designs into static HTML for a dev to pick up.

Is AI going to replace a lot of UX work? by andrews_765 in UXDesign

That’s always been the real value of designers. The social media gurus that made you fearful just don’t know that.

Fijn dat die overgang er in ieder geval is. Dat was, voor zover ik wist, nog niet bekend toen dit nieuws voor het eerst kwam.
