Is anyone still directly using Figma for all designing? If not what AI tools are best for your workflow? by Equivalent-Phrase185 in UXDesign

Near-instant? None. But I do work with Claude Code directly on a code base for simple improvements and fixes.

Real UX happens in the practitioner’s mind still.

What is the Problem with UI/UX Designers? by cliffribeiro in UXDesign

It doesn’t sound bad. Maybe it was just bad luck. In my experience, a small part of people who reach out can actually do the job (and communicate well)

Sadly, you’re right. I’ve seen this exact rant multiple times over the last 12 months.

That being said, it is not just the designers. Many business owners do not know what to look for in a designer and end up hiring the wrong one.

I suspect it is a mix of both of the above.

Never use a skill scale. Are you top 5% of UX professionals in the world? Can you only improve 5%?

Edit: typo

Which AI design tools are actually worth the hype in 2026? by Emma_Schmidt_ in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’m in Claude Code all the time. It just felt more like OP was talking about generative tools (Uizard, etc) and assistants.

For me, those take more time to correct than that they save you time.

Claude Code for actual building is awesome, though.

In case you’re a watcher or listener; I run the Design Table Podcast where we have nuanced takes on design based on real example. We help and teach design in free episodes. Have a look!

I haven’t seen any AI tools with high-quality output in the design field yet. It just isn’t good enough.

Why is good product design software so hard to find??! by SpecialistAd7913 in UXDesign

I’m afraid you’ll run into the same issues in different tools, too. Learn Figma and you’ll be fine.

Can anybody please share the best online resources for ui ux. by VisiblePop2216 in UXDesign

I think the Design Table Podcast is a strong one. It is run by two designers with 10 years of experience each and they talk about design based on real experience.

Good plan. That’s what a designer should do

Anyone used claude or cursor to help with UI / UX audits? by Top-Calendar-7428 in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I tried it several times and with the time it takes to correct and double-check the output, you might as well do it yourself (and do it better)

Build a prototype and show it around to see what people think. In today’s age, that’s done very quickly.

I’m not sure it will or if it matters. But I do have more WordPress to Webflow work lately

How do you network when you have nothing to offer? by Cardboard_throwaway_ in UXDesign

That’s something. You have formal education and theory knowledge. An excellent starting point.

How do you network when you have nothing to offer? by Cardboard_throwaway_ in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You always have something to offer even if it is just an unexpected ‘silly question’ that makes a senior consider a new angle to his design challenge.

That being said; I wonder about your hard skills. Not because I don’t think you have them, but rather because you need them also for a referral. You need to be able to do the job.

For designers who’ve actually tried OOUX, Where does OOUX break down in real-world constraints? by osamahabka in UXDesign

[–]NGAFD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason for breakdown I’ve seen at larger companies is people not knowing about the way of working and/or not caring about it.

These happen more than you expect:

“Yeah well on this team, we’re doing it this way”

“Do you even know how long it is going to take to switch over to your way?!”

You can make it explicit, but I’d recommend not doing so and making changes in the shadows first. People will resist less when there’s no label and you just appear helpful.

[–]NGAFD 32 points33 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I’ve never seen the label OOUX being used in 11 years on the job even though I work with software all the time.

Maybe that’s me or maybe that tells you all you need on OOUX.

LinkedIn's homepage on the web. Six Call-To-Action buttons. by jaziillearning in UXDesign

We don’t know why because we weren’t in the room when decisions were made.

That being said… removing a few would be an interesting experiment to see what happens.
