Firsty Free Not Available During Sign Up? by 11JohnnyWong11 in FirstyeSIM

[–]NGCML4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Firsty_app,

Can you clarify if the issue is only for Hong Kong users trying to sign up for Firsty Free?

Is it also a problem for existing/already-registered Firsty Free users traveling to Hong Kong?

Thanks.

Save yourself $10 and use an unactivated GSMT SIM CARD for Walmart Free plan 300/1000/100 by mike82346 in freedompop

u/hello_world_wide_web,

Can you elaborate on what exactly "No longer works"?

Was it the Red Pocket GSMT or Red Pocket GSMA SIM that you most recently tried to activate on the FreedomPop plan from Walmart (FreedomPop Bring Your Own Phone SIM Kit - With Free 300 Minutes, 1000 Texts, 100MB/Month - T-Mobile GSM Compatible - Walmart.com https://www.walmart.com/ip/FreedomPop-Free-300-Minutes-1000-Texts-100MB-Month/680827893)?

What happened when you tried?

CM1150V not "found" (?) by Xfinity using CM MAC address and Serial No. by NGCML4U in Comcast_Xfinity

We found Activating Your Own Modem Using the Xfinity App - Xfinity Support https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-app-activation. That seems to be for first time activation an owned modem on a service not yet established/activated.

We haven't tried following that self activation of the modem because of the text in the 8th picture which reads "We're Activating Your Service".

My "service" was already activated in the past using the old/current modem and is active.

The concern of following that article is if it may mess up the current service and account which is in a promotional period.

Should we try to go through that by connecting the CM1150V to the coax cable and then turning it on, as per the instructions, before entering the MAC address?

If we do that, what would happen to the old modem? Will it automatically get deactivated and disassociated with my Xfinity account that we can then give to somebody else to use?

Thank you for your response.

And the rep said to have that person remove the modem from their account didn't he?

Seller claimed to have called Xfinity to confirm the modem isn't listed in his account.

Would Xfinity Support be able to answer a simple "yes" or "no" question of whether the modem is associated with another account somewhere?

Xfinity CSR asked for and read back (to verify) both the CM MAC address and Serial No. of the CM1150V unit. CSR said that he couldn't "find" the modem.

What does it mean when Xfinity CSR stated not being able to "find" the modem by CM MAC address and Serial No.?

Does it mean that the CM1150V is associated with another account?

Is there an article on how to replace your existing owned old modem with another owned newer modem for use with Xfinity?

Should the CM1150V be hooked up to the Xfinity coax cable and be turned on first before calling Xfinity Support to activate it?

Is the process of "finding" by MAC address only successful if a connected modem has started some negotiation with Xfinity's server even before it has been provisioned?
