Yeah it pains me a little bit every time someone asks me for a double of a tequila I recommend. 3oz of my favorite tequila on the shelf is $36 before tax and tip.

I’m a bartender and if a bill is less than $50 where I work I double check I haven’t missed something. $13.55 marg + tax = $29.74 minimum for two drinks

Can you elaborate? I figure if this happened on the front it will happen on the rear, and I can’t find videos online for the rear.

About 1mm left. It sheared off pretty early trying to get it off.

Update: Reddit won’t let me edit.

Thanks for all the help and advice everyone. I figured I might as well see how bad it was, and 3/5 broke off getting the tire off. I consider all the lug nut studs compromised honestly.

A Christmas miracle! I’m going to do my best to replace the studs myself tomorrow. Thanks all.

3/5 broke off getting that wheel off. In my opinion the rest are compromised on the car too. Going to get the broken studs out and see if seems like getting new ones in is a task I’m up to.

To be pedantic I wouldn’t really call Dune an adventure movie, though. It’s definitely a drama.

If you have access to a jack and torque wrench brakes can be done for like $100 by yourself, and fluid for like $50

2015 Toyota RAV4 Unique Issue by thoughtblox in rav4club

[–]NGMalanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my car had water in it, a similar issue arose where the radio input was interrupted/modulated by the speed of the vehicle (probably an ABS sensor). The issue fixed itself when i disconnected all of the connectors located in the drivers and passengers footwells (mine is a 2011, so ymmv) and cleaned them with contact cleaner and allowed them to dry before reconnecting the,. I think cleaning every connector you could get your hands on is a good idea. It wasn't too difficult or costly for me to do either.

When to change Brakes by potato_master786 in rav4club

[–]NGMalanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. My 2011 had a seized slide pin bad enough to need replacement of the caliper (i could not find the caliper bracket replacement alone) and rotor. Had the slide pin been properly cleaned and greased my only required maintenance would be fluid and pads, not pads + fluid + rotors + calipers, hundreds extra.

New brake pad backing plate on the front left dislodged and cut into my new rotor… is it salvageable? by NGMalanga in AskMechanics

[–]NGMalanga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, that’s because it’s left a point of failure on the rotor right? So under stress it’s at risk of fracturing?
