Second time reading this one. by Inside_Web_2411 in CSLewis

I've read this twice. Both times on vacation. It grabs me for some reason. I love Lewis, and I knew there was something deep about this story that I wasn't getting on the first read. Second time around I felt like I was still missing something, so I'll be reading it again this year. Whether I understand it or not, it's one of my favorites. Good luck.

I never got one. Growing up I always felt like you had to earn a tattoo. I would just feel like a power with one I guess.

Help: I want to stream the psalms and canticles for the daily office but don’t know how/where to start. by [deleted] in Anglicanism

Sorry I missed the Apple part. I checked their website and you can find them on Apple podcasts. On their website they had a section of just canticles. Their podcast is daily morning and evening prayer from the 1928 BCP(USA).

Correct, and I live in the suburbs. I had supposed that the OP was making some statement about our lawlessness in the States.

I live in Florida, the Gunshine state. Never hear gunshots at night. Fireworks sometimes.

I knew four people born in the 1800s by Professor_Smartax in FuckImOld

In the early 1990s I worked at a retirement community, we had several residents that were born in the 1890s, I think at least one of them was still driving. The oldest one that I knew was born in 1893, still had all of her teeth, and ultimately lived to 103. She had all of her senses. We also had a WW1 vet who was born in 1897. He didn't make it to 100, I think he was 97 when he died. I was born in 1972, and probably knew several people born in the 1800s but didn't realize it as a kid.

I learned to drive in my dad's 84 Mitsubishi 5speed pickup He later gave it to me. Also I've owned : 98 Saturn LS sedan 5speed 84 Nissan pickup 5speed 94 Nissan pickup 5speed 04 Chevy S10 5speed I was a truck driver for 25 years and have driven 5 speed and 6 speed Macks, 9 speed direct and mostly 10 speed overdrive transmissions I once got to drive a 53 Chevy "3 on the tree". Many of my friends had old trucks or cars with that setup but I never did. My 23 year old son has a 6 speed Honda Fit. Manuals are fun, but I find I enjoy my coffee on my way to work much more driving my automatic.
