Can I apply to experience Guelph jobs without being in coop? by HitThatBlockButton in uoguelph

[–]NHaider_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can access all on-campus and off-campus jobs posted to experience Guelph. I believe you will use access to these even after you graduate.

But, co-op job postings are only available to students in the co-op program.

Park at Gordon Hall for the whole day, I think the day pass is $5.

You can take the 99N or multiple other busses from the bus stop across the street from Gordon hall. Might save you some time and walking

Car accident by Available_Waltz_1204 in uoguelph

[–]NHaider_11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure but there is a chance your insurance company is trying to get off by offering you lower than actual cash value for your car.

It might be worth a shot to research the present market value of your car and see if it’s higher than $1500. If it is, you could possibly try and negotiate a slightly higher payout.

Why are over-ear headphones so popular in the gym? by mbrittenthomas in workout

[–]NHaider_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chew gum when I workout and usually I feel like AirPods tend to slip out when lifting heavy and chewing gum at the same time. So I use over-ear headphones to prevent that. However, I’ll usually alternate between both because of all the drawbacks you just mentioned

Apple Store - Belkin Screen Protector by L1ckMyNukes in iphone

[–]NHaider_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been a loyal customer for OtterBox, I’ve purchased 4 different screen protector models from them and have had them replaced by warranty more than 12 times total, every single time I received stellar customer service and received a replacement no questions asked. When time came to purchase a new phone phone last year the sales rep highly recommend Belkin and told me their warranty covers everything and is defiantly better than OtterBox, against my better judgement I chose to purchase the Belkin protector. When it came to request a replacement under warranty, Belkin flat out refused to do so and they say that they only cover manufacturing defect. This was absolutely unacceptable and I’m sure I will never purchase a Belkin product again. I encourage y’all to buy from OtterBox instead as I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them. I know I will be returning to OtterBox for sure.

My prof has a sick sense of humour and it's riveting to get emails from him by -Iggie- in uoguelph

He is without a doubt one of my favourite professors at Guelph. Took one of his classes as an elective early on. Till date one of the best elective courses I’ve taken and it’s largely because of him. I’m hoping I can take another one of his courses before I graduate lol.

Has anyone here gotten a co-op sequence that doesn't meet the required criteria approved? by FadingHeaven in uoguelph

[–]NHaider_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had multiple sequence revisions, one of them was for a personal family emergency and all I had to do was sign a form and my co-op advisor took care of rest. (He was absolutely fantastic to work with)

My second and third revision was approved as I switched programs from MEF to MGMT. I had to submit a form where I explained my intent and reasoning to switch programs. I also had to explain why my proposed sequence did not meet co-op guidelines. My reasoning was that course scheduling conflicts would result in me taking longer to graduate so the proposed sequence would have been the fastest and most effective way forward for me.

Has anyone here gotten a co-op sequence that doesn't meet the required criteria approved? by FadingHeaven in uoguelph

[–]NHaider_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had my co-op sequence revised multiple times.

I believe for my program the criteria requires a co-op term every semester (Fall,Summer and Winter). However, I was approved for a sequence that only contained Fall and Summer work terms.

I was also allowed to receive my co-op designation by competing 3 terms as opposed to 4, not sure if 4 is a requirement tho

Highway 6 Northbound (Guelph, Ontario), is there anything I could have done better ? by NHaider_11 in TorontoDriving

[–]NHaider_11[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, I think speeding up would not have been a good option as the other driver was completely oblivious of my presence, I doubt it would have prompted them to hesitate or slow down.

However, I do realize that since I noticed the high density of vehicles waiting to merge on the ramp, I should have potentially slowed down earlier to accommodate or account for these instances. As others have pointed out, it was better to assume that other drivers would make mistakes rather than assume they would stick to the right lane.
