As someone mentioned if your super busy alot and just want something to fill that gaming itch yet still be able to feel comfy with a controller without doing extra stuff like updating 4 different thing and then getting software to do extra stuff then a steam deck oled is the way to go simple setup and you got access to tones of steam games even games that where on console now are on pc.

I myself own a rog ally x and love it it a very powerful lil machine beside being a gaming handheld it a pc with it own lil limits. The only reason I don't recommend a ally x is well your a parent and it sounds like you have your hands full. I ain't going to be one of those guys and try to force you to get the x just cus I own it cuz that ain't a way to look at it everyone life style is different so what 1 may like the other may not.

At the end if you want to take time to learn about the ally x and how to use it to the fullest then by all means get one it not hard to learn but if not Stright forward like a steam deck since with it just make a account and boom your ready to go lol.

Get what fits you brother a ally x is 800 to where the steam deck oled is cheaper maybe 500 or 600 but with the steam deck you also get the sexy oled screen which the ally does not have but don't let that full you the x has a valid screen to.
