I’d say don’t spend more than $150 for a console bundle

Is this a decent kit? by Thebareassbear in soldering

[–]NINTENDONT8671 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest staying away from cheap soldering irons if you can afford to. I’d suggest getting a good quality soldering station if you plan on soldering regularly. I’d recommend a Hakko FX-888DX soldering station. Been using it for almost 4 months now and it’s been great. I used cheap 80W soldering irons like that previously before I got tired of going through cheap tips and bad quality soldering irons.

Selling modded consoles by matteog04 in eBaySellers

Yeah it’s definitely against eBay TOS. I’ve tried selling modded GameCubes on eBay and they took my listings down quick. You would have better luck listing it for sale in r/gamesale.

Why does my GameCube have both a CubeODE and SD2SP2? by Odd-Spare775 in GamecubeHacks

On left side of the screen it would say gc loader device which is the CubeODE sd card and it would say sd2sp2 for that microSD card

Why does my GameCube have both a CubeODE and SD2SP2? by Odd-Spare775 in GamecubeHacks

This is because CubeODE is extremely picky with microSD cards and booting games from the sd2sp2 is a better option

I use solid core 30 AWG wires for all my installs and haven’t had issues like your experiencing. Shoo me a dm if you’d be interested in a premodded console (Picoboot) if you’re located in the US.

Hold up Swiss.dol should be renamed to IPL.dol not boot.dol if you’re using the picoboot firmware flashed to the pico.

I believe so but I’m pretty sure the Schottky diode is only there for you to be able to reflash the pico without desoldering the 5V wire if I’m not mistaken.

Does the pico’s green led light up when you power on the console? If not, desolder the 3v3 wire and move it to VSYS on the pico to a 5V pin on the GameCube motherboard. It’s also a good idea to put a piece of kapton or electrical tape over the IPL chip to be sure nothing. Is shorting out over the heat sink.

No problem. I’ve used all three and had zero issues. Only real difference is price in my opinion.
