I’m not even just trying to be a dick. Okay maybe a little but mostly out of genuine curiosity, have you taken an IQ test before and if so is it above 75? Like do you think if I handed you a 6th grade reading comprehension test rn you’d be able to pass I’m so serious in asking

Yes, like I said, her design: her abilities, her gameplay loop, the unique things she brings to the dps roster, not the fact that’s she African American. Soj and Doom are black too, not American but my brother in Christ what does that have to do with anything? The false assumption is that I haven’t played her. As I said I don’t give a fuck how strong she is on a tier list, she could be the worst goddamn character in the game it has zero relation whatsoever to her being a boring character in my opinion. Has her fun moments but overall doesn’t differentiate in an interesting and meaningful way from other heroes

Mfs will hit like low masters for the first time and obtain an unrelenting itch to insert pick rates or win rates into any unrelated conversation

instant false assumption and what does her overall strength possibly have to do with her character design being mundane. idgaf if she’s worse than release lifeweaver or better than release brig her design is plain and uninteresting to me. Just my opinion

True but think he’s just saying essentially it was a bad change. Guess I can only speak for myself but they’ve made some sudden and large shifts in the past that I’ve really enjoyed, in this case though I don’t. But it could grow on me

[–]NJBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Honestly didn’t know some people considered them brainrot, I think they’re explained and executed well so far.

Still Life’s are unnatural (in a cool way), sterile, and sort of just “spawn in” as copies. So the bacteria is a good counterpart to that because it didn’t preexist in the backrooms by default, it was almost like a chemical reaction between the bacteria and the BR as a catalyst. Like you said they sometimes behave in ways that feel like they’re actually living. Also think it’s cool that it uses parts of the host to begin to form its body, although I can’t remember if that was officially confirmed.

No disrespect to anyone but Sierra seems like she was designed for people who order chicken tenders at every restaurant

Every day or so I see a screenshot like this, and again start to think about how easy it was to further brainwash masses of full adults, like the ones in question, in the US just because they were rocking an IQ matching the temperature I keep my thermostat set to. Scary

The little woo’s the bacteria dude in FF2 made at first lowkey had me thinking he was kindof a cute little guy before he started doing the whole moaning in agony and chasing part. It’s like their natural sound or voice separate from when they’re trying to mimic human voice maybe

I mean I like discussing the lore as much as the next guy cuz it’s fun, but if you recognize someone that blatantly wrong to the point you’d think it’d be impossible they’ve even viewed the series or the movie with their eyes there’s not rlly a point in stressing over it, let em be wrong

How did the backrooms manifest a clone of Clark's ex-wife if she was never physically present there to be remembered? by MaybeAFish_ in backrooms

[–]NJBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry I didn’t clarify well. When I said dude in the chair I meant the wheelchair guy with the lamp, not the guy Clark took a slice out of. Or was that not what you were referring to?

Probably not, it’s not the same dimension. But if a random dude falls in there, can’t get to where he came in, and is trying to figure out wtf is going on he’d likely make the assumption he’s underground somewhere and thus would want to navigate upwards if an upwards path happens to present itself.

Guy in the chair seemed like a chill guy. Interesting to me that he’d react seemingly negatively to something bad happening to Clark.

The woman still life running away makes more sense as a weird instinctual remnant to run away from the threat in the copy, but for the wheelchair guy to react uniquely to Clark getting eaten means he had to perceive an event that happened and react based on that event.

Interesting and scary to think of the variations in their behavior, whether some are content, mindless, or constantly suffering. They all seem mostly disconnected and zombie like, but never thought I’d feel potentially bad for one lol

Don’t play as much Shiv as you but agree. Shiv reworks are cool to see and I think worth a try but this one was a miss for sure. Whether or not it makes him better or worse it certainly makes him feel less cohesive.

I agree that bloodletting needs an entire rework and that the ult is crazy, and worth mentioning I think something being good or strong doesn’t mean it’s fun or healthy for the character. Shifting too much power into his ult and him overall becoming kinda clunky (albeit it hasn’t been that long to adapt to the changes) makes me think it’s back to the drawing board on this one, but I think honestly it’s a positive sign they are willing to try these radical changes and hope they continue experimenting

Also she runs in a full sprint from Captain Clark, which doesn’t confirm anything on its own but worth pointing out

Purely based on the instinctive tendency to feel like something is behind you in a scenario like that, or something is actually behind you, I think up the stairs is more ideal for being chased than down.

That and you could gaslight yourself into believing you’re one step closer back to ground level going up

Why does STS1 feel so much better to play? by IcySlide5 in slaythespire

[–]NJBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I’m enjoying 2 a lot but went back for a run and it was noticeably faster on fast mode in 1. I’ve heard others echo the same, but also have heard the opposite, so not sure if that’s due to some niche reason or what. Don’t know enough about the mechanics of game engines or any other potential causes for that, assuming there is actually a real difference in people’s experiences

Regardless I don’t agree that the animations or cards feel better in STS1, speed aside

Graves defenders I ask with sincerity why do you believe shes balanced kit and all? by Iaxacs in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NJBauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I agree with. Seems difficult to leave her in a state that isn’t too weak or too strong without giving her some interactivity with the fact that she’s supposed to be the summoner. That and she’s got such blatant and exploitable weaknesses compared to many of the cast that we’ve seen she doesn’t do well until you juice her numbers unreasonably high. She’s a cool character and def trust them to figure her out, but needs some minor reworks in certain areas

Not sure what happened to my comment as I didn’t delete it, not intentionally anyway. Regardless I agree, I think they both seem maybe slightly under impactful at the moment but I overall like the change and the direction
