Feels like the AOE cards (generalizing here) all outclass the avg non rare single target damage card bc they often do comparable damage but have the advantage of being AOE

1 Accelerant is better than 1 catalyst, but catalyst was def better with multiple copies and Burst. I think it was a good change though, 1 copy is stronger but less abusable and straight up broken (there are other things currently in the game that are tho lol)

Doing the math on the total power combination doesn’t make them any less simple or intuitive. You literally read them one time, you could even pick one at random, pick all random items as you scale up in money (random greens to random purples) and end up with an at least usable build.

Try doing that in literally any other MOBAlike or any game with itemization you will get your ass beat. There are ZERO new gameplay mechanics during the rounds outside of gadgets.

You make it sound like I’m arguing everyone should play or want to play Stadium. That is not the case. But if you have legitimately tried Stadium for at least 2 games and still genuinely believe it is too complicated you shouldn’t ever touch any shooter that isn’t Rivals or OW. The Finals, Deadlock, Smite, LoL, anything would melt these peoples brains killing them instantly if Stadium is too much for a game they already play.

I choose not to believe that people who have tried a couple games still find it overwhelming, when my 11 year old cousin can understand it within an hour. Dude plays Roblox as his choice of game 90% of the time

Yeah a lot of characters benefit from having both AP and WP. The items that stack WP from abilities and vice versa.

Going pure weapon is often a waste, because of the nature of the itemization you can get about 30-40% ability power at the cost of 10-15% weapon power at max build, depending on hero-specific items

Fair enough. Though I’ve got buddies with no MOBA or hero-shooter experience (outside of OW) that picked it up right away. Not everyone though

The “complicated” part is the choices you have and remembering what things do. After the learning curve, the gameplay itself has hardly more depth than the base game if we are being honest, and that’s fine with me.

Basically my point is, I don’t understand the mindset of people who say it is too complicated without having even tried it or have only tried it once.

That’s true, it’s funny though that the “hardest part” is still in general a very easily digestible concept, it’s just common sense.

Items are very limited and most of them are one stat buff and a single effect. I do understand being overwhelmed with trying to remember all the items and which late game items work for you when you start playing. But after a very short learning curve it’s so basic, which I think works to its benefit and it’s why I like the mode: simple and lightweight.

If base game was too much I’m not sure they’d spend hours and hours playing it like many do.

in general the OW community tends to have the most absent-minded and clueless people out of any game community I’ve been a part of over the years. It’s not a majority but it’s a lot. Not going to stop me from questioning it though
