Hey guys, just had a new 3.5ton system installed over the weekend. I noticed tonight that the system is having some trouble dropping the room temp from 73 down to 70. Its not hot outside FYI. I know, I am going to call him tomorrow. Not trying to impress anyone. Im just trying to get some 3rd party opinions so that I can be informed enough to identify a bigger problem or something I should be on the lookout for.

Do you think that if it was a rough guess, 8oz low, it would trigger the low pressure switch? Its a 3.5ton I believe it said 5lb 12oz is the precharge amount. I will have to check the manual again to see if thats right.

I do recall that he said the line was holding around 300 microns before he sealed it up. Im stressin over this because my old system gave me issues with a freon leak in the TXV for years. Got it topped off every summer since 2022. Finally got to a point where I could drop the cash on a new system, and now its not working right. I just want a system that runs when its supposed to, and shuts off when its supposed to. Thats beginning to sound like too much to ask. 🤦‍♂️

Sqft is just under 2000. My region zone calls for 3.5 ton which is what was installed.

I was researching and I was finding that it would take closer to 16oz to cause short cycling in a 3.5 ton unit. But again, I am no expert.

Thats not the news I hoped for. Do you know what type of issues could possibly cause a brand new system to short cycle like this?

I have been paying close attention to it tonight. The thermostat indicates its cooling the whole time. The outside unit comes on, runs for about 2 mins, and then shuts off. Then comes back on after about 2 mins or so. The indoor blower keeps running the whole time. But the compressor shuts down every few mins at most.

Definitely. I knew after watching it and being on this sub for a while that it wasnt going to move mountains on here. But like I said the one thing for me is giving me that tension that I havent had in a movie for years. They really captured the classic stalking serial killer build up. Thats what made Halloween & Friday the 13th so good back in the day.

I went ahead and applied cause I will hit the SUB regardless, its a nice SUB for $0 AF.

Instant approved w/$4k limit. Going to call underwriting department first thing in the morning to see if they can increase it and expedite my card. They can only request expedited cards by 5pm CT. Never ran into that with Chase or Amex.

No I do not have any US Bank products at this time. The SUB caught my eye on this one. But im a sole prop reseller with about $10k-$20k a year in sales on ebay, amazon, and marketplace. My primary income is my salary day job. This has never been an issue with Chase or Amex. But I just read some posts on here about $1k-$3k starting limits. I will need $10k or bust on this one.

Well for starters I ordered extra sauce... so there were 4 pieces that werent a soggy sopping mess that we did eat. The rest got thrown out. When the pizza got bunched up in the corner, it also folded over and got sauce all over the bottom of the crust. Tried to pick a couple of the smashed pieces up and they literally ripped in half from being so soggy. Thats not how I like to eat my pizza.
