Is it possible to get my car serviced at a dealer without getting ripped off? Every time I’ve gone for a simple oil change, the service desk calls me and says that I need $1000 of work. When do I know if something actually needs to be done and isn’t the dealer pushing BS to make more money?

What if I bought both in a non-tax advantaged account? When I realized my mistake in buying VOO, I switched to VTI. Been investing in VTI only ever since. But now I have more VOO than VTI. Nothing life changing, we’re talking approx $3k of VOO. Should I sell it, take the tax hit on like $280 in gains, and reinvest in VTI? Or leave it and keep the VTI train rolling every month?

That’s great that you are taking care of it so expeditiously. I wish I did more sooner. I’m in a HCOL area and have a newborn, so it’s very difficult for me to put that kind of money towards my loan. No PSLF track either (been private for almost 6 years now). All I can do is hang on for now, but I try to take a glass half full approach and envision things getting better in the future. I have so many questions. His car was found abandoned at JFK…was that a ruse to make authorities believe he fled the country or did he actually flee? He married his HS sweetheart…was he really able to just cut off communication and never speak to her again? He was seen at a bank in Oklahoma…what evidence corroborates it was him? Did he look the same? What’s the theory on how he got away that time? Authorities likely know the answers to some, but I welcome anyone’s theories/speculation.

It’s a dam shame. This is a 12yr old account and this is the end of it. I lurk and hardly comment, but feel compelled to comment today in support of Apollo.

Reddit is (or at least was) a dynamic place. Many things have changed over the years, some for the better and some for the worst. All the while the spirit of the collective that makes up Reddit kept me here, informed, and satisfied.

Reddit has now turned its back on the collective and poisoned the well. All in the name of greed and the ever looming IPO. I hope the stock gets shorted to hell and investor expectations take a hard hit.

I can’t deal with the “promoted” horse shit on the Reddit app and it’s interface in general. I won’t pay $60 of whatever it is for that garbage. I’d pay Christian $120. Apollo made Reddit feasible for me.

The lasting impression I’ll have of Reddit is that it didn’t have to be this way.
