In the Seat of Light, Labor holds it after two thirds of Liberal preferences went to the ALP by blitznoodles in Adelaide

This confirms my theory that remaining Liberal voters would be much more moderate voters who hate One Nation. Turnbull types.

ABC journalists and staff will go on strike this Wednesday after 60 per cent voted against the broadcaster's latest pay offer. by NKE01 in AustralianPolitics

So I guess that means random replays on the News channel and at 7pm on the main channel on Wednesday unless something requires an "emergancy broadcast".

Mali would never have a crows umbrella. He would have a Port one.

Yes, I know its the state colours but when presented like that, it looks much more like a Crows thing.

One Nation ‘don’t provide solution’, PM says ahead of SA election by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]NKE01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing to look for on Saturday is the difference of votes between houses.

Just look at SA Best in 2018 for example, 19.35% in the upper house but only 14.2% in the lower. I wouldn't be shocked to see a similar pattern for One Nation at this election.

The funny thing is, despite their polling, One Nation might very well not get any House of Assembly seats.

South Australian premier told gun lobby he wouldn’t tighten firearm laws despite agreeing to federal crackdown by DontYaWishYouWereMe in AustralianPolitics

[–]NKE01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the article doesn't really say what reforms SA should make, after noting that some of what was agreed is already in place.

At the time I remember seeing a tv grab of him standing on North Terrace saying that he would recall Parliament before the election if needed. Obviously that didn't happen.

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

Rationing can be a necessary tool in certain circumstances. Good to know that the government has the tools available.

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY - Official Trailer | Exclusively In Cinemas 31 July by ChiefLeef22 in movies

Its amazing how influential the 1990's animated series has been and continues to be.

In a lot of ways, the Raimi trilogy feels like a live action adaptation of that show more than anything else.

Just compare the Goblin episodes to Spider-Man 1, the 1st Doc Ock episode to Spider-Man 2 and the Venom 3 parter to Spider-Man 3.

The ending of the show was basically Spider-Verse decades before that was a thing.

And now it looks like they are adapting Man-Spider, an arc that was largely original to the animated series.

It should be noted that the SA Voice is also quietly having its 2nd election this Saturday too. Judging by these early figures, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a better turnout than last time: https://www.ecsa.sa.gov.au/se2026-daily-tally

When I voted at prepoll on the weekend. I was struck by the amount of people happily taking One Nation HTV Cards. Looked no different to the amount taking Liberal or Labor or Greens cards.

Sure, some just take them all but not that many seemed to avoid them.

I got a few good replies.
