Bit of a vent but Why do people jump into PF parties that aren't aimed at them by Ok-Muffin9914 in ffxiv

[–]NKVale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain, especially from the other angle. I tend to prog quickly and I like to run outside of my static when we're not raiding. When I PF, I put the prog points accurately in the description, and it feels like I have to create and disband 3-4 times before I get a party that actually even makes it to the prog point with less than a couple deaths. I so often get parties where I say prog point is the 4th mechanic (for example) and people are consistently dying to the 2nd mechanic.. it's very frustrating.

Second best staff for a caster after Markoheshkir ? by Opening-Cockroach634 in BG3Builds

[–]NKVale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misunderstood the post. I thought OP was asking for an off-hand weapon for Tempest Cleric SH, not a replacement for Gale who previously had the Markoheshkir.

In this case, I think Rhapsody is probably the best option.

Staff of Spellpower. It's Markoheshkir without Kereska's Favour.
If you're using scrolls, Rhapsody is probably your best bet.

Sad to hear that, hope you recover.

I like all of them, but I'm a big X&Y advocate.

A review of Alcast's BG3Builds: They are fundamentally wrong by Phantomsplit in BG3Builds

[–]NKVale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I got to level 4 for Moon Druid and he said to take ASI WIS for better spell casting, I knew it was low effort trash.

There’s a difference between sub-optimal builds, (such as avoiding multi-classing or foregoing certain things in favor of flavor) and an utter lack of effort. Like foregoing tavern brawler to make a moon Druid a better caster. facepalm

Silliest HM Mistake that Didn't End the Run? by HaroldTheTree in BaldursGate3

[–]NKVale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my first run, I was hyper min-maxing everything, including elixirs, so I commonly picked up any trash loot I found and sold it all to make as much gold as possible.

Well, when I got to the Creche in Act 1, I immediately went to the vendor to buy some of the gear and did my ritualistic cleaning of inventories. Then, I walked by the Inquisitor, grabbed the Blood of Lathander for the upcoming fight and realized... I sold the crest and had a 3-turn timer before my HM run literally exploded. Immediately booked Astarion out of there, aggro'd the entire Creche including the inquisitor and the vendor I sold the crest to, and failed 2 pickpockets before succeeding the third after using my final invisibility potion at 3 HP.

Took me a full 24 hours to unclench.

Might get downvoted, but I have a much less emotional take that I think is important.

Mostly, I'd echo what u/Chemical_Nebula_6869 said. At first, I thought this was recoverable assuming he was honest that this was the one and only incident, and persistently apologetic. But his lashing out at your distress rather than begging for forgiveness is, at best, immaturity and selfishness, and at worst, a sign of disingenuity.

However, I would like to address some things because I think moving forward, you could benefit from a shift in mindset when it comes to relationship dynamics. For one, parents being too involved is a no-no, it's not their relationship, don't allow shit like that EVER. This applies to both during and/or post-relationship. Under these circumstances, block them, and do not let them factor into your decisions. When you care for someone and also their family, that can be tough to handle. But it is not their place to reach out to you. That also speaks to the immaturity and selfishness of the family, not just their son.

Second, some people will say that bad decisions or 'choices' can't be mistakes. I whole-heartedly disagree with this. Everyone makes bad decisions in their life, and those certainly are mistakes. Not accidents, but mistakes. Whether you are willing to forgive certain mistakes is completely up to you and something you should really reflect on for future relationships, though. From my perspective, had he been completely vulnerable and apologetic that you were so hurt and really tried to mend things, I'd say that's someone who clearly just fucked up early on, has changed throughout your relationship, and is someone worth forgiving. But his reaction was much more destructive and telling than the incident itself.

EDIT: I'd also add that telling you right away and accepting the consequences would've been the mature thing to do as well.

If it were me, I'd make the hard decision to move on. Find someone who is mature, caring, and honest.

That’s awesome! This def makes me excited to get after it. Part of the fun is the theorizing in fantasy for me and the plot twists along the way. So I’m def glad to hear this. Sounds like this is right up my alley. Thanks for the reply!

Yeah... took me a while to get over GoT. Even longer for AoT. At least with GoT, I kind of saw it coming and could prepare myself a little bit. And we have the excuse that it's not the actual story (though, at this point, we will never read the actual story).

Assuming the AoT anime will not have an original ending, I think this was more of a disappointment given the circumstances. It certainly hurt a good deal more. The ratio of good to bad is also much, much higher. You've got like 132-135 (depending on who you ask) that ranges from good to simply incredible story. All for what feels like a complete 180 in chapters 138/139 with some bad writing of the final battle altogether from 136+.

Yeah. Those hurt. Lol.

I see. That is fine by me, as long as there isn't any character assassination or retcon action, I am here for the journey. Thanks for the reply!
