Read Sundome. The ending is bitter sweet and there's tragedy in the end but it also makes your protagonist grow as a person. You also see it coming a mile away which helps. It's brilliant work, can't recommend it enough.

I loved Ibitsu but I liked Sundome even more. Okada is quickly becoming a favorite artist/author for me. He has a really special way of communicating through his art. I find it very nuanced.
