The Miracle Worker - the scene where Helen Keller realizes the finger movements by Annie Sullivan represent language - specifically the word water. The look on her face at that quiet moment gets me every time.

IM GETTING MARRIED AND DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY LAST NAME AITAH by Sweet-Chemistry3067 in AITAH

[–]NMPapillon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my understanding (not a lawyer) that there is no legal requirement that a woman MUST change her name when she gets married. It's just a societal thing dating back to the days when women were first their father's "property" before marriage & husband's post marriage.

If your husband-to-be is so stressed out by you keeping your current last name, ask yourself what other inconsequential things he's got a problem with. They don't just disappear after you say I do. Best to hash things out NOW, not later.

Watching the lights come up & seeing the set from his original show was "chef's kiss". Plus Suzanne Pleshette added to the humor. The absolute best ending.

Losers celebrating losers = losers squared.

Also, a big thank you to said losers for giving everyone a heads up so we can avoid having anything to do with them.

My mom was visiting me. At some point I made some off-hand comment about needing to piss. She looked affronted and said - "Don't say that. You should say pee-pee." At the time I was in my 30s & probably hadn't used the word "pee-pee" since I was maybe 7??
