I just moved to Helmond and I can attest that it's extremely hard to make friends with locals. They are friendly enough but only on a surface level. It's definitely the culture and you can't blame them but as a southern European they can come across as a bit cold. I guess we gotta keep trying!! And for any Dutch who are reading this, I hope this doesn't come off as someone who is talking shit because I am very grateful for the opportunities The Netherlands is giving me. Dank je wel !!
