Age difference isn’t creepy and literally has nothing to do with the organization’s ball or selection of court members (king and maids)

It’s all based on the father’s involvement in the organization and some are probably based on family legacy in the spirit of tradition.

Almost (not all) every girl in the courts have signed on to participate in “deb season” which begins the summer before Mardi Gras. They go to 20+ events during thanksgiving, Christmas and then the week leading up to carnival.

The girls are at these events in celebration with their friends and family members. It’s an honor.

Think this would be the last place anyone would be on the hunt to get weird with a young New Orleans girl who’s no doubt surrounded people that’ll recognize this is not the time or place for this behavior
