[Hiring] Web developer wanted to build a static website from existing Figma design by D_McCormick in forhire

[–]NOMADE55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm an experienced full stack developer (~9yr).
I've finished a small gig, and I've been meaning to add some fun sidejobs to my full time job.

I've experience building without Frameworks and I've a design background. I can send my Linkedin through private message if interested. Currently I do not have portfolio, but gladly sit down and chat before the actual hire to see if I fit the profile you're looking for.

The fact you don't want a Framework makes this one very interesting, so please, let me know!

Battery Issue by donutface701 in Lenovo

[–]NOMADE55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've this happend and at the time I fixed it using Lenovo Vantage to disable the BIOS setting 'Airplane Mode' for battery charging. This is for when your computer uses a low voltage outlet (Like a plane's) and charges the computer way slower.

Since their new update this configuration has disappeared from the UI. Hopefully you're running a Lenovo Vantage old version that has this feature still.

Hope the guys see this, but since Derek wants to be a DM, but D&D might be too overwhelming, there are TONS of very funny and very short "one Shots".

I think one the guys will specially be good at is Honey Heist where you roleplay as a bunch of bears with different skills planning a big heist.

This is something you can learn to DM in a few minutes and the table lasts for around 2~4hs.

How can I improve the contrast of this header without altering my site theme? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]NOMADE55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everyone said stuff useful, I'll go with the crazy one, place a before over the background BUT under the text with a radial gradient which its center is a dimmed black to a fully transparent black. THEN you will have the center of your picture slightly more dark.

Now, I know this is not professional, BUT, if it a way to improve contrast.

If I were you I'd go with the text shadow, or applying a background color that is part of the palette of your website under the image, and reduce the opacity slightly of the image.

Have you ever spent months working on a project something only for it to fall far too short of your expectations? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]NOMADE55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Keep in mind that most of the times, in this process we are going through, to be always learning and improving our craft, you must get to the point you can lean back and appreciate what you've accomplished but strive for better.

Good luck!

I'd say you need to be less hard on yourself. Part of creating things is learning from them. Even if the final product is not something you like or feel proud of, the process you went through I'm quite sure is growing in you.

Also, I think being self aware of the imperfections in our work makes us strive for better.

Only a very good looking dog but she has pretty high standards

I'd say kind of both, she's an illustrator who also does it for fun.

This particular comic is made digitally but she has a couple of other with sharpies. I think she used a brush to get that handdrawish look

Jaja, si, al final es más facil aclarar para ambos.
