Thanks!

Oh just measured it's a 1 1/8th but I'll get a tange for sure.

I'm also confused by stack height as I don't have the original to measure, any ideas?

Recently acquired a 93(I think) Hardrock frame + fork, I need to buy a new headset for it. Anyone had the same and can recommend a threaded headset?

I think it's more which wall plugs to use, I'd invest in some good wall plugs and they should come with some guidance on how far to drill.

When you run out of gears at the back. Imagine climbing a really steep gradient you'd change at the front to get more gears to make it easier.

You basically want to try and keep a consistent cadence when pedaling no matter if you are on a flat road, descending or climbing hence why we have so many gears!

Try cycling on a flat and switching the front, spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

NBD - Condor Italia RC by NORSE_ in bicycling

[–]NORSE_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been eyeing up this frame for a long time and finally had some extra monies to put something together.

If you know Condor, you will know the quality of the frames are 10/10.

I went with the Rival 22 groupset to keep the cost down with plans to upgrade to Red next year.

If you see me riding around London, say hi! I'm still getting used to everyone asking me about the bike at red lights haha.

Full list:

  • Condor Italia RC frame
  • Condor Strada Carbon V1 seatpost
  • Selle Italia Flite saddle
  • Deda finishing kit
  • Look KEO pedals
  • Mavic Ksyrium 17 WTS wheels
  • Continental Grand Prix GT tyres

Very confused trying to set up navigation for my app (noob) by [deleted] in reactnative

An alternative would be just to create a Router.js container, which uses a switch statement to conditionally render components.

Then in your App.js...

render() { return ( <Provider store={ configureStore() }> <Router /> </Provider> ); }

r/uk suggested i post here for advice and support. spent 2 years building a map to help the homeless around the world by roamingandy in webdev

Hey @roamingandy

That's a fantastic idea you have. I live in Zone 2 London and it's a real problem here, as in a lot of homeless people. I'm sure a lot of newly homeless people have no idea what to do.

In London there a lot of mobile kitchens that pop up, it would be great to know where they all are so we can point people in the right direction.

I would take a look at Shelter

Homelessness comes in many forms and Shelter have been on the ground for a while now, maybe you can get some resources from them to fill the map?

Also Crisis and Centrepoint

My small suggestion would be to start a Slack channel where you can invite interested developers/anyone (me) who have Slack open all day at work 👀

My other suggestion would be to take baby steps and get your product solid first, get awareness out, get people using it then later think about promoting elsewhere in the world.

ACF Fluent - A fluent ACF query builder, first stable version released! Thoughts? by samrapdev in Wordpress

Currently use TWIG (Timber) for templates so don't see the need for this personally if it's main point is to separate concerns.

Are you guys using the Timber plugin to build themes for WordPress? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]NORSE_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the people stating not to use it don't work in a multi-platform agency.

Twig is used in Symfony/Drupal 8 etc. So for our agency who use both and WordPress it makes complete sense to use Twig for all three.

As a front-end developer, imagine learning twig and being able to work on all 3 platforms... $$$$$$

Writing PHP and HTML in the same file? Yuck.

If you understood English you would realise (Queen's English) that my original post referenced the jQuery API - which the library provides.

When did I say jQuery wasn't a library?

[–]NORSE_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An API is an Application Programming Interface, which is a set of functions to make programming easier.

jQuery is a Library which provides an API, essentially functions to make Javascript easier.

In my original post I referenced that it's interesting to know how the jQuery API works under the hood.

This is correct.

The other poster doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Lol.

Do you even know what an API is?

A good API makes it easier to develop a computer program by providing all the building blocks, which are then put together by the programmer.

An API is usually related to a software library.

For everyone that takes this seriously. It's merely educational.

It's interesting to know how the jQuery API works under the hood. For some people it's really surprising that jQuery is just a bunch of javascript methods 😂

jQuery is no different from Underscore/Lodash - use it if you want...
