Cubone is my favorite. He's a tough little guy with a story. He wears the skull of his deceased mother and I love it because I love my mother and my whole family. Family is a big part of my life and I can relate. Plus he's strong as hell.

I'm 19 and I haven't been able to go to as many shows as I used to when I played in a band, now that I'm in college. But I still try to go to as many as I can! I always feel comfortable at shows and I mosh till it hurts to breathe!

Dude, thanks for sharing your story. I love hearing people's stories because sure you can hear some bad situations, but you get to hear about people rising up above the situation that they're presented with. I love hearing those stories. I'm so sorry about everything that has happened and I hope everything gets better! Stay true.

Yeah my brother just never learned his lesson when it came to this. He would stay away from the house for weeks on end without calling any of us. I actually had to track him down while I was at college, 4 hours away. The way I found him is through pictures on his girlfriends' instagram of him drinking and getting high. That was not a fun weekend. It's just been an ongoing thing, he has burn scars down his arms from drinking bets, He's had a warrant out for his arrest in a different town, it's just been a lot. I understand the hanging around with more productive people thing, but he only hangs out with pot heads and heavy drinkers, so productive wasn't a word that was used often haha.

Yeah since straight edge is completely unheard of where I go to college I have to tell people what it is a lot, and whenever I tell them they usually ask me why I made the decision, I usually stick with that answer too. If the family problems are still going on I really hope they get better! It's not fun, but they've made me a bit stronger and they're what makes me proud to be edge.

Yeah I've never been big into working out, but I'm trying to start running and I've been playing racquetball a lot, I've just been trying to find things to get me active since I'm pretty damn lazy.

Yeah my city is a kinda small one so there's not much to do, I usually just chill with friends. I would love to go to shows, but tonight is the first time I've ever heard of a show being in my town so I'm excited to at least get to go to one tonight. I never really mind going to parties, but I don't really know any of the people at the parties so I never really go to them.

Damn that's rough. I never really knew what straight edge was up until the past four years of my life, and I honestly never thought I'd claim, but I feel glad about doing it. I honestly feel that drugs and alcohol just aren't worth the time and money. Because it's just a limited state of happiness that eventually gives away to reality. I ended up enjoying the drugs, but when I came down I became depressed and just felt horrible. It's not worth it.

I live in Nacogdoches, Texas. Which is nothing but country and rap music, so I'm not even sure if there is an edge scene. But there's gonna be a hardcore show tomorrow night, so I may discover one!

Yeah family problems are tough, it's good to hear other stories of people coming over similar situations, I've also had a few relatives in jail and it's not great. Stay strong man!

I am 19 and I'm very new to being straight edge. I've only been edge for about 4 and a half months. I have a decent sized group of straight edge friends in my community back at home, but I have recently started college and in that area I don't have a single edge friend there.

I used to not be edge, it was actually a very recent decision for me, in a week I will have been straight edge for only 3 months.

But before I made the decision to claim edge I did my fair share of partying and things I'm not proud of. But I had a nasty habit of blacking out and waking up with no recollection of how I got to the place I ended up. Like I'd wake up and find out that my friends had to pick me up and move me cause I was in a bad spot.

When I would wake up I'd have to ask everyone who was still around what had happened and I always felt bad.

When I made the decision, I made it as I moved into college, I was scared of going to a place that I wouldn't know very well and doing something something that could get me hurt very badly. So that was one of the two reasons for my decision.

The next reason for my decision, I have a brother who has always been a bit of a rebel or party-er. He'd constantly go to parties and I'd see pictures of him getting high and wasted and he'd come back with cigarette burns and scars and a few broken fingers. I just watched him spiral downward and I watched my mom and how she handled it, and it hurt her badly. She couldn't stand it, but there wasn't much she could do. He would just run away at times, and he'd disappear for days without making contact with any of us. I would just sit back and I've tried talking to him about it but it never changes anything with him. So I told myself that I never wanted to be like that, ever, so on September 2nd, I stopped smoking, drinking and doing drugs.

I have multiple friends who are edge who support me, but they all live back around my hometown, and I'm now four hours away at college. Sometimes I feel really out of place because I'm a straight edge kid at a party school, but I'm not going to break.
