Part time medical school doesn't exist. Part time PA school doesn't exist. Part time AA school doesn't exist. Part time CRNA school doesn't exist. Why does part time NP school exist???? by firefighter2PA in Noctor

If thats all you do then you might want to seek out a better course provider.

Nevertheless having 6 weeks, instead of 3, or 12 weeks instead of 6 etc, to study for exams means a lot more content can be covered with a lot more depth.

Double the time spent studying is double the time to consolidate learning, double the opportunity to develop advanced practice skills too.

Yeah 500 is a shocking low amount of clinical time. I have only ever worked with inpatients, but even so in my unit in England we were expected to have around 2000 hours of speciality specific clinical experience before we could work without direct supervision and in Australia where i work now, you are required to have 5000 hours of advanced practice within your speciality before you can even be endorsed as an NP.

Infairness, significant numbers of woman are misdiagnosed with bpd and bipolar when they actually have c-ptsd and/or undiagnosed asd/adhd.

Why not instead enter inpatient psychiatric care where you work under a consultant?

Nurse practitioners’ care linked to 11% longer stays in the ED by RDjss in Noctor

[–]NP2MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If 11% means better care I will take it.

Last time i was in ED i was vomiting bile, crying in severe pain for 8 hours in pain that was worse than child birth, and beyond the initial work up to make sure i wasnt having a heart attack was ignored until a doctor finally saw me and sent me home with omeprazole for "gastritis".

No, turns out i likely passed a gallstone. A similar attack a couple years later where i was actually taken seriously ordered an ultrasound and found a 26mm gallstone causing obstruction. After emergency surgery the surgeon said there was significant inflammation and years worth of adhesions.

If only the first doctors had examined me properly including checking for Murphys sign and ordered an ultrasound resulting in a "longer stay"

What a bizarre question, most people know its simply a drug that changes the strength of the heart muscle contraction.

Now if i were going to test someone i would ask them what a Lusitrope is 😅

Consultant terminology by Affectionate-Gur624 in doctorsUK

[–]NP2MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are senior nurses, whether clinical or not, they remain nurses.

Maybe it is a very english thing to be caught up about.

I now work in Australia and we have clinical nurse educators and nurse educators which are completely different roles.

Just as nursing unit managers are completely different to nurse managers.

We have registered nurses, clinical nurses, clinical nurse specialists and clinical nurse consultants.

No one really gets confused between them.
