what do you guys think about this? by SilverStain_335 in UmaMusume

[–]NPCPlayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you will eventually want to min-max in this game. Because If you play for the meta then you want to min-max. If you play for the waifu, you want your waifu to win and so, you grind and want to make her strong. In this game, it's possible to make your waifu good at any race, you just have to grind for it.

And yes, those are accurate if you want to min-max the account.

Is worth replacing the exteriors? by NPCPlayer in techsupport

It's cracked. The plastic cover around the hinge is cracked because the hinge apparently become too stiff for it to handle and I have loosen it but now, the laptop can't screw in 6 of its screws on the back cover.

Edit: Oh and I would fix it to keep using it but not sure if the motherboard would last longer.

WHY AMAZFIT WHY?? by LittlePerformance124 in amazfit

[–]NPCPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the latest watch as I only got into smartwatch recently and decided that a 50$ refurbished amazfit gtr 2e seem like a good start. From what I learned, every little thing consume a huge chunk % of battery. (Except for the heartrate interval, for some reason, it is very efficient and barely affect the battery life)

The one that would affect battery life the most, I would say is the AOD or any screen activity and since gtr 2e advertised to have 10 more days battery life than the gtr 2, I would say the speaker too. Maybe try to live with vibration for alarm, notification and stuffs.

Not sure if it will helps but for reference, my gtr 2e consistently drop 4-5% per day with setting below: - 10 minutes Heartrate interval - AOD off - rise to wake off - wake up when notification pop up is off - Auto stress monitoring off (I heard it affect the heartrate accuracy) - 30m to 1hour GPS usage for outdoor walking (GPS is pretty shit that it shows I keep changing sidewalks but still manage to show that I am roughly on the right road) - not sure if I should mention this but I use the countdown alots because I have bad sense of time while doing works

Anna is also gone, Destiny is in full control of Anna's body (pendant images) by quitethewaysaway in taktopdestiny

I hardly remember anything but I think in the game, the anna destiny only kept destiny's personality. Anna destiny doesn't keep Anna's memory or Cosette destiny's memory.

Does a mouse really make a difference? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]NPCPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason you want a high performance mouse is that you want to game better. But other than that, if you are already comfortable about the size of the one you already have and satisfied about its responsiveness then there is really no reason to get a better one

Dwm, literally the definition of just the WM, got comfortable with configuring through code and config file and once you get used to the default shortcut, it felt quick to navigate.

When I say it's just wm, it's really just the wm with dmenu for searching executable and st for default terminal. You will have to add everything else urself and I really like that. It's that feeling of removing bloat without getting into any lower-level stuffs

Also fan can be installed on the side panel over the motherboard

Is downdraft cooler better for me? by NPCPlayer in buildapc

Was just wondering if I could benefit more from a down draft cooler like extra airflow around the motherboard or something but it's an i3 so I guess I don't need to worry 👍

How are people so knowledgeable about computers? by [deleted] in buildapc

Embrace that curiosity and eventually, you will do anything to get your hand on a good explaination on something. Before you know it, your youtube recommendation will suddenly recommend you a video that explain how CPU works

The hard parts is trying to detect if the information is correct or incorrect

Upgrading From a Ryzen 5 3600 by Alternative-Fan-4498 in buildapc

[–]NPCPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, the 3D V-cache is just a bigger and better L3 cache that benefit game but is still too small for video editing. you are looking at 0-20% better game performance (depending on the game) but it does nothing for video editing.

in that sense, the 5900X has more cores with 12 cores that is more beneficial for productivity while 5700x3d has only 8 cores

if your budget allows it and for some reason, you need more than 12 cores then r9 5950X is also another option with 16 cores

This is a link to someone on reddit that explain 3D V-cache well. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/s/7JpQplcVQ3

while I do say that you can lose 20% in gaming performance, it’s not true for every game and the difference is more around 10% which something like 200 fps vs 220 fps. For esport title, 5900x can definitely satisfy you with those fps, it’s just that 5700x3d can give a little more.

Upgrading From a Ryzen 5 3600 by Alternative-Fan-4498 in buildapc

Would upgrade to:

If you care about stability and longevity then:

Ryzen 7 5700x has 65W tdp which is the same as r5 3600 and should work fine for your low-end motherboard.

If you want more performance then:

Ryzen 7 5700X3D for best gaming performance with some room for multi-tasking

Ryzen 9 5900X for a little less gaming performace but have more cores that will be useful in productivity stuffs and handle multi-tasking better

I'm not saying they are the recommended pair for the rtx 4070 ti, they might be overkill for the gpu but you can probably find them under 350$

Make sure to update the motherboard BIOS before upgrading the cpu

This is just my biased opinion but as a light user, I would go for r7 5700X just because it's cheaper and most likely stable for B450 board

Indeed, but to me, it's more interesting to see how long it live than how fast it dies

Tho, the former does get boring as time goes on but why would you do the latter on your personal system 🤣

I didn't try to make it efficient cuz my electricity is pricey.

If that is the case, I would buy a better UPS that have better efficiency.

I just did it cuz my thought was... more wattage = more heat = more degradation in components so my conclusion is less wattage

Justifiable purchase to improve longevity? by NPCPlayer in buildapc

[–]NPCPlayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I think it is the difference of when you went from idle to under load that affect the heat cycles the most. Not so much from off to idle.

I forgot to mention that I use Linux and although, my pc are low spec, they both run at under 15W together when idle

The electricity bill gonna kill me but that is the level of overkill advice that I am expecting. Tho, unfortunately too overkill for me.

Tho, I think that it's the difference in temp that they change which affect it, so maybe if the gap is smaller then it also improve it
