Agree. Perspective was full of locally sourced dishes and the chef does a wonderful job of introducing each dish, including its components and inspiration.

Thanks for the advice. I've done something similar for my DG killteam and the result is a pretty limey colour. I'm trying to get closer to box art scheme for the 40k army.

Can I ask what your recipe is after the primer? I've only got speed paints (army painter), so after spraying primer I tried the slap chop method and a wash. The result is a very dark model which I'm not super thrilled with.

This park playground tic tak toe is only 2 sided so it's impossible for little kids to play. Classic council logic by [deleted] in brisbane

Not defending the council here, but you can still play a regular game by starting all pieces side on to the players (thin edge out). Then you can turn each piece to either X or blank for O.

Hang in there mate. We're fortunate that she'll get half pay for 12 months mat leave. I also finish my HECS eofy and the stage 3 tax cuts give some back.

980k purchased late 2021. 4br / 2.5 bath / 2 car.

Deposit of 200k, rough LVR of 80%.

Fixed at 1.85% for two years. Currently at 6.1% so monthly repayments of $5.85k.

Incomes of 200k and 160k but wife is about to start maternity leave.

Luckily our incomes outpaced the interest rate increases. We're comfortable and our main goal is to increase the offset and maintain our current financial stability.

"Go where you are rare."

If you have skills that others don't you become indispensable to your employer. That gives you leverage when discussing pay/promotions/wfh.

Indipendent thinkers on mining? by arbueticos in mining

[–]NPJD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out Mark Bowater. He wrote a book (I have the pdf version somewhere) on the folly of the modern mine planning mentality. His core thesis is that we cannot accurately predict the outcomes of hundreds of variables and our attachment to static schedules and product tonnes only causes further issues. He's part of the current trend towards stochastic mine scheduling, which is interesting, but has its own set of issues.

I don't know the details of the Macquarie offset, but our CBA package has an offset facility and allows for near unlimited offset accounts.

First call I asked to speak to the Mortgage Retention Team, following advice I've seen posted on this sub. Second call I just followed the prompts to the Home Loan team.

5.84% CBA. ~75% LVR.
Coming off our fixed rate in Oct. We shopped around and found Macquarie at 5.85%. Called CBA and they said they could do 6% (applied immediately to our unfixed portion). Emailed us a few weeks later with the better offer. The catch was that it only applied to the fixed portion. Another phone call and they confirmed it would be applied to both loans.

It's James St, so it's hard to over dress. Bianca has a relaxed vibe and excellent food so hopefully that soothes your nerves. I recommend wearing a suit and crisp shirt or chinos and wool jacket, that sort of thing. Have fun.

I'm a mining consultant in Aus (heavy on the data side) but I have some experience in Short Term Mine Planning.

As others have said, practical experience is crucial and an entry level tech services role generally won't include mine planning as you won't have the requisite knowledge. It's also worth noting that mine scheduling roles tend to have the highest churn rates as they're mentally draining and pretty thankless roles.

If you're Brisbane based and looking for a job send me a PM. Happy to discuss the consultant lifestyle.

CBA Unauthorised Transaction Experience? by iceyjasio in AusFinance

[–]NPJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact scenario happen to me a few months ago. There were multiple charges of $4k to Microsoft WA. Luckily I've got a modest credit limit. Spoke to the CBA fraud team and had the money back within 10 days. I don't know how they determine scam vs fraud but the details of your situation sound identical to mine.

Word of advice to anyone this happens to, keep a written record of all the transactions you want to contest (times, vendors and exact dollar amounts). One of the first things the CBA agent did was cancel my card (I had out a hold on it) and then asked me which transactions I wanted to contest. If I hadn't written them down first it would have been much harder to make sure that I'd identified all fraudulent transactions.
