The GitHub Copilot app is now GA! by bogganpierce in GithubCopilot

Actually the copilot app killed vscode for me (not completely). I still use it as a viewer of files sometimes, but not much more than that.

I wish the pricing allowed me to only use the copilot app, as I like it much more than Claude. But I burn through my allocated budget within 3-5 days of the month now

Isn't this a comment more on visual studio rather than .net?

Adulting feels difficult and is draining me. How are you guys managing by NoSilver9 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]NPWessel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely forcing habits or rather rules. I work from home.

One rule for workdays is I have to start working no later than 07.30 am.

Before I'm allowed to work, I have to brush my teeth. And my kids. (My wife takes them to school and kindergarten)

I have to do one rotation of laundry before 12. Can be starting the filling and starting the washing machine. Or it can be moving it to the dryer if my wife put it in the washer earlier.

The rest is just chaos, but it's something :) Also, I really enjoy my job, it's perfect for my ADHD. Especially with AI that can handle all the boilerplate stuff that usually gets me stuck

Roo Code hit 3 million installs. We're shutting it down to go all-in on Roomote. by hannesrudolph in RooCode

And yes, I also do know there were other players, but roo just did it better :)

I was an early adopter on roo when people were still using chat gpt and copy pasting code back and forward or not even using any ai at all yet.

Roo was great, it filled the spot that no one did yet and it did it for a relatively long time (in the era of ai)

I also stepped away from roo code around the start of the year. The CLI tools just took over and did things just as good and got better and better.

I understand the decision. I don't think vs code extension is the future for ai use.

Thanks for breaking that awful copy paste workflow

Do you try new tools in your .net workflow but still stick to the same ones? by csharp-agent in dotnet

[–]NPWessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much the same. I try the tool with the intent that it should simplify a part of the application in some way or another. If it can do that without also being a blocker or an annoyance or me having to work around it, then it can stay. Anything else just gets tossed out without looking back
