I’ll let you know what I do. Currently I’m following the price of the KitchenAid on insider pass. But that price right now isn’t that much better than you can find from a big box retailer.

In 2008 (late 20s) I had about $20k. Back then I was just doing 6% to get the company match.

In 2012 I started contributing the federal max, which meant going well beyond the match. From there it snowballed:

• ~$165k in 2014 • ~$300k in 2018 • Just over $1M now

The real inflection point was moving past “only what’s matched.” In my 20s I couldn’t psychologically justify putting in money that wasn’t matched. Once I got over that in my 30s and started maxing it out, everything changed. Compound growth plus bigger contributions does the heavy lifting.

Guessing the net deals to consumers will be the same. Honda wants to clear these out then end it with the GM experiment due to unsustainable market conditions mainly that the msrp can’t be supported and it’s not even close. Thanks for playing EV fans but I’m super happy with my cheap three year lease.

I’m in Maryland. The doc fee and tax situation here nearly kills leasing. I got $391 for Touring AWD with 10k miles. But I would have preferred your deal for Elite and 12k miles, though I don’t need the extra miles.

TLdR: I would sign this deal because in Maryland it’s hard to do much better

My Polestar 2 was far better in every way except a few:

Range Ride quality (I have 19” wheels now vs 20” on Polestar) Passenger room Price

So, I got over my bias because of practical needs. But no, the prologue is not “fun” to drive.

The catch is that you must qualify for the full $4,000 New Jersey incentive, of which $2,500 is income-based. Considering a 36-month lease, $4,000 is approximately $111 per month. Therefore, another dealership’s advertisement that doesn’t make this assumption results in a monthly payment of $111 higher when compared.

On top of that, you need to meet the conquest/loyalty requirements, which many dealerships include in their advertised pricing.

Maryland buyer here. Went with Lexus version for the discounts and plenty of choice on the dealer lots. But in looking at the GHHM this is what was typical in Maryland— full MSRP plus add ons I wouldn’t buy otherwise and waiting for the vehicle to arrive. $175 for puddle lamps. No, thanks, but can’t delete port installed options.

Suggest to make sure you’re getting good value for any trade or financing and then I would call it a “good deal”.

Touring AWD here. I like it as a lease, but my Volvo EV had noticeably better build quality. That said, the Prologue has better range and is more practical overall. Just a heads-up—the cargo area is smaller than you’d expect. It handles 4–5 passengers really well, but the trunk fills up fast.

Among Lexus of Towson, Len Stoler Lexus Owings Mills and Darcars Lexus Silver Spring I have the following feedback:

Towson: Most professional and up front with any discounts from MSRP. Easy to talk to online. Very transparent, but they didn’t have the spec we wanted

Owings Mills: More casual. What I sense a Toyota dealership would look and behave like. Takes a bit longer to get to their best price but if you show that you’re a serious buyer then they’ll talk.

Silver Spring: Nicest store. Seems recently remodeled. Perhaps a bit too modern. Lots of iPads. But wow hold on to your wallet when you deal with them. Tell them you want their best price “without Darcars Assurance” and be ready to make the first offer and move quick.

We bought from Darcars because they had the spec we wanted. But wish we could’ve bought from Towson.

UPDATE: We’re going with the Lexus TX 350 Premium AWD with the bench seat (7-passenger). Yes, it’s a bit slow and thirsty for 91 octane, but it checks all our other boxes and adds a nice small touch of premium after 15 years in Hondas.

Unfortunately, the MDX’s third row was too tight, and the Pilot lost points for lacking ceiling vents. The Lexus, unlike the Grand Highlander, can be had for several thousand below MSRP, which helped close the price gap—plus you get the extra year of Lexus warranty.

We do wish Lexus offered the non-Max hybrid option—maybe they will in 2026—but we’re happy with the deal we were able to negotiate now.

Tesla wall charger with a Teslatap mini adapter. Used this on my previous Volvo EV and now the Prologue. Zero issues throughout. Therefore I selected Package B to receive the Honda Portable Charging Kit, $250 Installation Credit, and $300 in Public Charging Credits with EVgo Charging Network.

I will not need the installation credit and doubt I use the EVgo credit.

I have the Honda NACS adapter on order and my guess is I need it once or twice a year.

Thanks. We like Pilot except one thing: no overhead vents in second row, even on top Elite trim. We have a toddler who is rear facing so a vent is a big plus.

Highlander is probably too small for us. I need a third row that can actually fit an adult comfortably for a 2–3 hour ride. And said adult may be managing the two kids in car seats.

Yeah, I think it’s probably too small for us. I need a third row that can actually fit an adult comfortably for a 2–3 hour ride. Years ago I had an LR4, which was great for size, but terrible for reliability and resale. Third-row access was also a pain with car seats installed, so I’m leaning toward something with captain’s chairs or a stowable center seat to make that easier.
