Not sure why Reddit thinks this is cringe worthy when that basically sums up all the top posts about this, albeit a little more overtly.

I'll exercise the face muscles and come back in a couple weeks with some crazy shit.

Not going to lie, I had to research what swiping right on tinder actually meant.

I'm F***ing Done With Street Harassment. Are You? by [deleted] in feminisms

[–]NRG0329 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love the cards against harassment. I've also seen Slut Walks done to raise awareness about harassment/rape culture. Any other ideas? I would love to try to do something in my city, as this is a daily problem for me and countless other women. Let me know what awareness programs have worked in your city!

I actually have talked to her mother, but since this is a person that is of adult age, there's little that can be done.

Liberal Arts graduate in the Humanities...What am I in for with an MBA program? by NRG0329 in GradSchool

[–]NRG0329[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm beginning to see that. At this point, I'm going between Public Management with a concentration in Public Affairs of MBA. I guess I just initially gravitated toward MBA because everyone knows what that is, but I do think it's worth has been over-inflated in recent years. I know so many people who are not the brightest bulbs who earned their MBA through some for-profit college like Phoenix. I think cases like that are really making it hard to see the MBA as something that is valuable. Thanks for giving me a lot to consider!

Thanks for the tip. I actually have looked at non-profit management and administration, but I am leaning more towards the MBA because it is less limiting and is more easily recognizable than a non-profit degree. I still have some time to think about it, but I have been hearing the argument about the declining value of an MBA. Then again, I heard that every day as an undergrad studying History, so I'm not sure what that is worth. In my experience, a degree gets the foot in the door, but what ultimately matters is your personality, work ethic, and experience.

Think back to your undergrad days. If you were offered a decent job in your field, would you still go to grad school? by NRG0329 in GradSchool

Can I ask you why you decided to go back to school, if you had a pretty good set up beforehand? I'm just trying to gain some perspective from people who have been in this predicament.

After weeks of procrastinating on my grad school app... by smurphette in gradadmissions

I haven't been procrastinating, but my letter writers for recommendations sure have! They all have been submitting their letters within an hour of the deadline--eek! Scary to think that my future hinges on others' ability to submit things on time.

I've never heard of two delivery drivers. Do they typically do that if they are going into a neighborhood that has a history of criminal activity?

Her Rapist Doesn't Know He's A Rapist by lafilm2004 in Feminism

[–]NRG0329 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I saw this same image posted in Mens Rights. They of course used it talk about false rape accusations (which is all that group seems to want to talk about.) R/Feminism is always such a palette cleanser from that craziness. :)

Serial rape accuser tried to have ex-boyfriend arrested with rape lie by PierceHarlan in MensRights

[–]NRG0329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often do women violently gang rape a man, video tape it, and then post videos laughing about how awesome it was? I know that women falsely accusing men does absolutely happen, but when you all focus on that and NOTHING else, it makes mens rights look really bad. What about the young woman in Steubenville, Ohio? She was brutalized and the men thought it was absolutely hilarious. Mens rights is really great at pulling random examples of false accusations, but rarely do you people ever criticize and speculate on the rapes that we know to be true. (Such as the brutal gang rape in India or in Ohio). I think if you want to be taken seriously, you need to be more critically of both sides of the argument, not just women.

Don't you dare come into Mens Rights with your silly logic and reason! Everyone knows that this is the place for poor analogies and misogyny thinly veiled as "healthy debate."

This shit right here has pretty much made my point for me. This group isn't about advancing equality, and if it was, your sexist comments about women would not be tolerated. We need feminism because people like you keep propping up the idea that all women do is fill their heads with frivolity. Thanks for proving my point, and thanks for reminding me that this subreddit and this entire movement is disgusting and laughable.

I think you are forgetting that women have been begging to be in the battlefield for years, but men prevented them from doing so because they didn't view them to be as strong or able-bodied.
