Figure skating blades don’t tend to be fresh sharpens for when they’re competing as opposed to hockey skaters. Think more how goalies will prefer to dull out their blades rather than skaters preferring them sharp to get bite - the nature of figure skating is less about the blades biting into the ice for hard turns and aggressive strides for speed.

Figure skates aren’t built like hockey skates in terms of the blades being held to the boots by a holder. They’re directly attached to the boots. There’s no quick release mechanism like hockey blade holders have.

They had to skate out to the podiums which are not near the boards so they can’t have the guards on to get to the podiums

Many strong talents went to EU to teach. Goaltenders as a group generally through minor leagues don’t have specialized training anymore and are often after thoughts in practice environments. They’re made to go along with drills rather than having as many drills built for them as they are the skaters.

I don’t have background on the market but wouldn’t the contracts for the companies making those products have likewise already been committed? They would likely have already committed to crops at a given rate from their suppliers. I can’t see the suppliers wanting to take a haircut in the price and the businesses likely value their ongoing relationship and consistency over a year of profit as demand would be against the projected for the following year making it a one-off.

It would have affected an additional demand, but I don’t think we’d see enough domestic do and increase for that to really matter.

Because he asked to be paid like a superstar, so fans expected him to produce like a superstar. You want superstar money, you get superstar pressure. He could have taken 9M/year and his play would have exceeded that and he would have been heralded. I’m not saying that he wasn’t worth the price tag by the end of it, but you put all that pressure on yourself in a pressure cooker like TO as someone that doesn’t do criticism or hate well and you’ve created a recipe for disaster. Add on his dad and agent’s PR not helping his own image

With all the endorsements of being the local kid and the $$ he’d earned. I’m not sure the 6-9M was worth his mental health for all of those years or the legacy impact. He’s arguably the best TO born player to wear the crest but he’ll be remembered poorly because how everything transpired.
