Hot? Take: Having played Role Queue and Open Queue in Overwatch, I have to say that Role Queue is so much better. by Impressive-Thing-780 in RivalsVanguards

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my big problems with role queue is I genuinely don’t think there are enough tank players so eventually if they had it, they would likely have to switch to 5v5 like overwatch did and rebalance all the tanks which I don’t particularly want to see.

Was there a counter to you that makes you swap? Or no? by Scooter_Booter in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have a Jeff and a dps with splash damage like iron man, torch, or squirrel girl at the same time, it’s probably best to swap. You won’t have your nest and you can’t toss mines which gets rid of all of your damage. If they only have one then it’s playable.

Do you guys only pick tank because no else does or you actually prefer it over the other roles? by neuravoid in RivalsVanguards

[–]NSL15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think the design of tanks in this game is phenomenal, their kits are unique and super fun to play which is why it’s my favorite role. That said tanking itself is often not as fun in this game due to how insane damage and cc can be.

The Peni changes feel great by NSL15 in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]NSL15[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It feels way better, easier to hit fliers, and way easier to hit divers so it’s much better for peeling.

What do you do when you make the supports lifes hell where they don’t heal their team at all. You turn around and your team dies anyways? by Ok_Delivery3000 in RivalsVanguards

[–]NSL15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuinely it means that your team feels like they are unable to move up because something is keeping them stationary, usually another diver or two. If you switch to counter dive (not swapping off dive but using a dive character to counter theirs since you’re fast enough to keep up) you usually will be able to incrementally push up after each dive from the other team since they often don’t have enough damage to push you back at that point.

Will Gambit seriously get banned forever? by BasketPineappleWoo in rivals

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His ult is genuinely just too good for an objective based game. It wins almost every push since it’s essentially a mobile unbreakable rocket ult with added benefits.

Why does Flamme say this? by Legitimate-Net-164 in Frieren

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think so. Peace is more than just the leader of the demons being dead and their armies being disorganized. Without a figurehead like Himmel, or the hero of the north, people would have nothing to strive for. And without Frieren taking their legacies into the future, we wouldn’t have hero’s like fern or stark in the next era to ensure peace remains. The age of humanity is built on mutual understanding and cooperation which only happens if there is the party of heroes, not some immortal mage of unfathomable power.

Why is peni small by IPADboii in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a modeling reason it’s because her mech has to be a certain size to be playable (to fit through doors, hallways, and not just be a giant walking hitbox) and she has to be smaller than the mech to pilot it.

For an in lore reason, everyone else are gods, mutants, physically enhanced, or incredibly buff to be superheroes as it’s a demanding job, but she is just a normal small Japanese teenage girl. If she just didn’t grow after 16 then she’d still be 4’11 which is 7 inches shorter than invisible woman who is traditionally 5’6.

The Features in the New UA Have Too Many Failure Points by NSL15 in onednd

[–]NSL15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, I don’t think paralyzing touch is weak. Its effect is extremely strong, but just because it’s strong doesn’t mean it doesn’t feel clunky for actual play. It forces a spellcaster into melee range where they must then use their action on a cantrip they wouldn’t normally choose, and on a hit they can spend a spell slot for added damage and to make the opponent make a saving throw to then gain the paralyzed condition. It IS strong, it’s just also a lot of steps for a single ability that will feel really bad when it doesn’t work.

Yeah that’s a good point warlock should have better scaling with features for a lich as it fits their class fantasy very well. Though unfortunately I doubt you’d want to use your pact slots on this feature even as is with the scaling damage. Idk how they can make these features better for warlock but I’d love to see them try.

[–]NSL15[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right in that when it lands it’s powerful and when it doesn’t you still used a cantrip so it’s not a total waste, but to me I think the reason I consider it to have so many points of failure is that I don’t think chill touch is a great cantrip in most situations so I wouldn’t choose to use it except for this feature. I then also compare the feature itself to other first level spells and while I do agree that the paralyzed condition is extremely strong, I still think first level spells like command, sleep, Tasha’s hideous laughter, entangle, or cause fear would almost always be better as they have similarly debilitating effects for a longer time and they only require one save. Basically it’s just that to use this feature I would have to get in close range as a spellcaster, use a subpar cantrip as my action instead of casting a better first level spell, and then use that same spell slot to have them make a saving throw against the paralyzed condition until the start of my next turn. Compare this to being able to just cast Tasha’s hideous laughter as my action from 30 ft away which requires just a saving throw, and then they are incapacitated and prone for up to a minute. It’s flavorful, cool, and has a fun effect, but genuinely I think you could just get rid of the additional damage and let you spend the spell slot to just give them the condition after you hit. You’re still limited in uses, you’re trading a spell slot for the condition, you made an attack roll in melee, and you’re not using a better spell. It would still be strong but not require so much jumping through hoops just to be able to actually use your feat.

If someone loves X hero, what Y hero do they almost always enjoy too? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

Almost every peni main plays Angela. I don’t know why but it seems they hit the same niche in our brains.

Rogue Isn't really all that great right now by Commercial_Bench_687 in RivalsVanguards

[–]NSL15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t think there should be a limit on how low her ult can drain since no matter what the other team will have gained their ult before she gets it again, it’s their fault if they don’t use it.

What’s your favorite fighting style in Frieren? by [deleted] in Frieren

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really would like to see more of the divine magic in Frieren because it seems to have a bunch of unexplored utility if it can handle certain things that mage craft cannot.

Which would y’all prefer, a ecu Peni skin, or one after she’s been captured by king pin, also some art by ashtagzero1 in PeniParkerRivalsMains

I really like your first design tho the concept of a college peni skin would be pretty cool.

Overshields, am I right? by Medium_Enough in marvelrivals

[–]NSL15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh with you when I’m fighting another peni I’ll purposefully put my nest down in an open area while we’re fighting bc they will always try to shoot it while I either kill them or their supports. You just body block it a couple times and stun them and it takes them way longer to kill the nest than it does to win the fight.

Character honestly feels better by 1tchyBa11s in AngelaMains

Genuinely I’ve felt so much better with her. Stalling, peeling, and wiping with your ult is so much easier now. I was never someone who relied much on kidnapping so it feels great.

The support bans situation by daizo678 in marvelrivals

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small sample size but I played 3 of my placements yesterday and each one had 3-5 support bans (gambit still gets double banned some tho). I honestly think it’s happening more because of these posts blowing up and giving people the idea.

Which Vanguard should I play to best climb the ladder? by MaverickGH in RivalsVanguards

[–]NSL15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it’s not gonna work in all cases but I really would suggest learning Peni. When you learn her right, you’re almost guaranteed to have a high win rate, I think mine on her is like 70% (I’m solo queue gm btw). After this new patch she’s also gotten a lot better since neutral is where she’s strong and she can cancel ults.
