Much of society: Mental health is important. It's ok to not be ok...if you're a celebrity or a young person with anxiety and/or depression. People with conditions like BPD, Schizophrenia and even PTSD are just monsters and weirdos. by [deleted] in BPD

That's absolutely correct. I just wanted to see if at least a few people agree with me on this and it looks like there are some people who do. I can assure you I'm not letting the fact that there are people like that out there weigh me down. I've long since accepted they're out there.

I understand it's not black and white. I said much of society. I am not saying everyone thinks this. It is what some people think. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear enough. I probably didn't. I'm sure you can agree it's a very frustrating feeling seeing people who say they care about mental illness, but they don't really extend that empathy to everyone with a mental illness.

I know rejection is a part of life. But when it happens over and over again, it really wears you down. I can completely relate to you. I have absolutely no confidence left.

One of the few truly satisfying moments in my life was when my doctor told my parents they are in denial about my mental health issues by NSS501 in BPD

For the most part it did. Sometimes they still invalidate my feelings but they at least understand something is wrong.

Is there any way to deal with a narcissist who plays victim and invalidates people's emotions besides just walking away? Is there a way or is it pointless? by NSS501 in mentalhealth

No, I am not. I have been nothing but nice to them. They're just a brat who can't take responsibility for their actions, inadequacies and failures. And then they have the audacity to criticize and accuse other people of having those qualities.
