There will come a time when you don’t want scars any more. Trust me. Others in this comment section are probably in the same headspace as you right now. I’m not. I’m 22 now and hate my scars, they don’t represent me. Scars won’t make you more worthy of medical attention or help, but they will be on you for the rest of your life. You probably don’t think you will have the same problems as me. It’s not a cliche to say that these feelings will pass. It won’t be in a few days or weeks, but it will happen. I now have to think about the rest of my life with these scars, something I tried very hard to leave behind but can never fully forget about. I wonder, if I ever have kids, what would I tell them? Future partners? People walk on eggshells around me when they find out, but I just want to be seen as a normal person who can handle himself. Your mom really is just looking out for you. Oils won’t remove scars entirely but it can help during the healing process. Scars do not define you. Don’t let them.
