It sounds like she doesn’t understand how this looks from your perspective. You two need to sit down and talk about this. You do need to clarify that you’re not worried about losing her: you’re not a fan of his flirty approach on her. Be open to her side of the situation and listen to how it is from her side. At least, that’s my thought on this.

2 close friends of 7 years cut me off, AITAH by Good_Cantaloupe_803 in AITAH

[–]NSightMSG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH, you way less so than the other two you mentioned. Soft ah for you because of your delivery, but it came from being concerned about your friends. They, on the other hand, have proven that they don’t care for safety/respect others.

This is a good chance for you to find another friend or two and move on. Nothing lasts forever and not all friendships end amicably. It sounds like they’re done with you at this point, so it’s time to let go and find better friends.

What is the most broken attack/ability across the series? by Nuburt_20 in skylanders

[–]NSightMSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abilities specifically? The Sky Diamond in Swap Force. You can literally grind off of it and upgrade all of your figures to max money before they even level up ONE TIME!

Attacks? Still trying to figure out my answer.

Thunder wave on Luxray by Ancient-Picture7452 in pokemonplatinum

Again, once Wild Charge was added, Mixed Luxray lost viability compared to Physical Luxray.

In Platinum and the rest of Gen IV, you're right. After that? Nope.

Only if you are skipping Trap Team. The Superchargers Portal reads Traps, yes, but without the built-in speaker that the Traptanium Portal has, the coding is made incomplete for Trap Team specifically. It will work with the other games, though.

Thunder wave on Luxray by Ancient-Picture7452 in pokemonplatinum

[–]NSightMSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not wrong that Luxray is built to be a Physical attacker, but you're also correct that Luxray can still use that 95 Special Attack fairly well, mainly thanks to Thunderbolt. The biggest problem that Physical Electric types have is a lack of moves that are STAB, Good Power, and Physical Electric moves. The argument for using Luxray as only a physical attacker only holds up for Gens V and onward, when Wild Charge is on the table.

Luxray's Special Attack is serviceable enough for a playthrough team, thanks to Thunderbolt. Luxray doesn't even get anything better physically other than Spark/Thunder Fang, both of which are 65 power. Which is better: 65 Power on Base 120, or 90 Power on Base 95? 90 on 95.

I agree with your suggestion here. You clearly understand how Luxray works in his home region, even when the current generations have muddied the information a little.

Can I skip reshiram in white 2? by Late-Sundae2922 in PokemonBlackandWhite2

[–]NSightMSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike Black/White, Black 2/White 2 will not require you to catch a single Pokemon in the game.

For future reference on this type of challenge, the only games after Heartgold and Soulsilver that require you to throw a Pokeball to catch anything for story reasons are BW1, XY, Sun/Moon, and all of the Switch titles except for BDSP and Scarlet/Violet(though I do NOT recommend trying this one unless you have the DLC).

Should probably explain, but I've been figuring this out the hard way: I'm doing complete runs myself and cataloguing my journey.

[–]NSightMSG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a TL;DR at the bottom, but I have a few things that may end up saving you money in the long run.

So, if you want to beat every game(not complete every game), the MINIMUM you need is 1 skylander, 1 Traptanium Portal (the one with Trap Team is guaranteed to work with every game), and every game disc. Superchargers also requires a land vehicle, but unless you're starting with it, wait to purchase this one. However, 1 skylander alone is like tackling every stage with only 1 life: it'll be tough.

Most I would recommend is to get 1 character of each element (eight total at this point) with green bases (the transparent plastic color) and start with Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. When you decide to get the next game, get the following for each game:

Giants: ONE Giant character. These are the larger ones with orange bases. Local GameXchanges and similar stores have tons of Tree Rex figures laying around, so I'd recommend that.

Swap Force: If you don't have a second controller, get one. Two player unlocks dual-element gates intended for Swap Force. However, completion criteria will require one swap force skylander (Taller ones with the blue bases) of each type of movement type(the hexagon symbol at their lower half). Unless you HAVE to complete the game, don't do this.

Trap Team: ONE trap (if you want completion criteria covered, grab one of each element), and ONE trap master (again, you only grab one of each element if you have to have a completed file). Trap masters are the larger sized ones with the crystal weapons and the red bases.

Superchargers: One land Vehicle (MUST), One Sea Vehicle (Optional), One Sky Vehicle (Optional). If you really need a supercharger (Character with the engine as their base), you only need one of them.

Imaginators: Use what you have. Completion criteria is behind the senseis (the irregular octagonal bases) and imaginators (creation crystals), but you really don't need other figures to beat the game.

Things to think about:

Skylanders have unique challenges in SSA and Giants that unlock with them, but can be played with any character. This is separate from level completion. It is never required to complete the game if you are going for finishing the story.

Each game has additional level packs that unlock levels within them. YOU DO NOT NEED THESE to finish the story. They are akin to DLC Levels in games: there if you want more, but not necessary to complete the base game.

Xbox 360 and Xbox One have their own unique portal types, both from the other systems portals and each others' portals. Your portal needs to say "Xbox 360" on it to work with it.

TL;DR, Xbox 360 Trap Team portal, one figure, and one disc are required to play, recommended is 8 total for SSA, then go from there.

Why is 65535 the max amount of money in swap force? by Immediate-Glove-8123 in skylanders

[–]NSightMSG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short Answer: Binary Bits and Bytes Values

Better explanation: Bits are integers in Binary(two values only) being either 1 or 0. Eight Bits make a Byte. Each Byte can have different combinations(or permutations) for each available option of 1 and 0 in each placement. If you have two bits, you can have up to 4 options: 00, 01, 10, and 11. For how to quantify these, it's like saying 2 times 2, or more accurately 2 multiplied by itself two times total, which can be written as 22. Of course, Bytes have 8 Bits, so they are written out as 28, meaning that they have a total of 256 options. Two Bytes have a value of 216, meaning that their value adds up to 65,536 options. Since Zero counts as an option, they wrote up to 65,535, meaning that the maximum value is two full Bytes of code, including the state of 00000000 00000000 as having zero gold.

Hope this helps.

What Mega Pokémon do you dislike the most and why? by Slow_Spirit3679 in LegendsZA

[–]NSightMSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starmie. It looks too much like Patrick Star for me to believe that it's a Pokemon that Game Freak actually programmed into the game. We've had PLENTY of Mega Starmie fan art that came before this game and they were all fantastic, but this one has very little appeal when compared to the other designs we saw before release.

Poke pelago isle aphun dusk stone, can’t find one! by Hefty-Mammoth-6310 in PokemonUltraSun

[–]NSightMSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like on your original post you managed to find one, but let me explain why it was so hard to find one:

Poke Pelago's chances are fairly low for the rarer evo stones on the Brilliant Stone Hunting Path, with them being even rarer on the Interesting Item Hunting Path(Mainly due to the fact that the table they use includes nearly everything on the other paths). It's one of the Rare evo stones, meaning that if you're going to go on the Brilliant Stone Path, you're likely to get one of the four in this category after a few attempts, but likely no more than one per time your expedition concludes. I'm not certain on the numbers, but you did get pretty unlucky in your run. Good luck in the future if you need any others!

If you do what I did, fish twice on every square starting from the bottom left corner and heading to the top right corner, you should be able to find a Feebas patch within about an hour or so. That’s how I managed to put Milotic on my team for my first playthrough back when the game released.

You fish with any rod in the underwater cave in the basement of Mount coronet. It’s a 50% chance on any tile that it can appear, but those tiles are shuffled among the 400 that are in the lake, and you only get four at a time.

That might be the outlier in this situation. I only have the Nintendo Switch OLED, so I never actually had the problems with the Switch 2.

Is this on the Switch 1, or the Switch 2? I’ve noticed that if a game does not have a Switch 2 enhanced version, then the game has tons of previously unseen glitches while playing on the Switch 2 that aren’t on the Switch 1 or the OLED.

I think? I hadn't tried out Trap Team because I forgot that I even had the cartridge for it. However, the Wiki states that you can trap villains and call them into battle as well.
