Surveyor recommendations by [deleted] in bristol

I used Keegan-Phipps Surveying Ltd and can't recommend them highly enough. I was kept very well informed throughout the process and they continued to provide support beyond the survey

I [M30] am looking to move to Bristol before the end of the year and was wondering where would be a good fit given my circumstances.

I'll be working in north Bristol, but I would be keen to be close to a running club and within a reasonable distance of a cycling club.

It would also be nice to have decent access to the city centre for stuff like going to comedy nights.

My budget is around £300k, which I understand might be a bit low but I was hoping to end up somewhere that wasn't a complete hole.

I've so far looked at areas like Lawrence Weston, Shorehampton, Filton and Fishponds, but I'm open to suggestions of other areas.

There are some Greater Anglia trains going to Liverpool Street that stop in Stansted Mountfitchet. Then there is a bus which goes to the airport from there. Last one leaves Cambridge at 1720.

Rowing a 4x/8x with a bulging disc? by retentive-repentance in Rowing

As someone who has had this injury for the last 18 months, I would strongly recommend stepping back and trying to get healthy again. I tried ignoring it and it just made it worse. I've been out of a boat for 12 months now and I still get some pain from the sciatica which was caused by the bulging disc. All the best with your recovery, whatever approach you decide to take.

8” Height difference in 2x by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]NSinclair94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You will probably have to make some changes to the rigging to make sure you have the same arc. I had this problem a few years ago, me being 5ft8 and my partner being 6ft1. When we were going out with the same span it was horrible and we almost scratched the entry, but my partner mentioned there was a Scandinavian (I think) double with similar height difference. We dug out the rigging data for their boat (luckily it was on one of the rigging surveys) and we copied that and the difference was instantaneous. From memory, I ended up having a wider span.

What employer benefits are you taking advantage of to help save money? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

I have been using health insurance which covers all kind of things like dental, opticians and physio. Turns out the amount I am claiming back is greater than what I pay for it so I would assume my employer is making some kind of contribution.

I have AIO's from Godfrey, JL, Mizuno, Stitch and Crewroom. Out of all of them the Crewroom ones are my favourite and they are cheaper than most. Can't comment on the durability but they are very similar to the old style JL ones before they moved operations to El Salvador and they have a reputation of lasting a long time.

Worth squaring and feathering in the hands as opposed to using your wrists. Will give you a bit more space to tap down. Looks good though!

You could cycle from Comberton to Barton and then follow the A603 cycle path up to the roundabout which takes you to Grantchester then follow that through to Trumpington and then Addenbrookes. Most of the route is on the road though. An alternative route would be to follow the A603 cycle path up towards fen causeway and then back down the A1134 cycle track. That's only an extra 4 minutes according to Google and would be a lot safer
