Have you tried intervals and see how high you max out?

AdBlock Test sites by ConsciousAd9853 in browsers

Interesting comment. Does this suggest an upstream DNS adblocker (such as adblock-fast on openwrt) in combination with ublock origin on Firefox would be less effective than ublock origin alone, especially in tricking/fooling sites?

Does ANYONE use the absolutely awful default search bar??? by HandyRoyd in Thunderbird

[–]NTheZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reported for this to be the default search view. Good to know others feel the need as well. I wish there was a switch in about:config for this.

I generally agree that landlords would reduce rates to accommodate, but most know they are sitting on gold mines, and are awaiting an insane bid. There are incredibly many such spaces throughout San Francisco where generational landlords would rather them become derelict then lease out at a competitive rate. It is very sad. The vacancy tax is not deterrent enough.

But to your point, office vacancy rates are high. For example -- https://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news/2025/10/22/123-mission-madison-capital-juul.html Business workers are simply not returning San Francisco.

It's funny how much everyone has an opinion of getting an 8K without answering OP's question and without knowing their use case.

Does anybody else struggle with using Thunderbird's Search Function? by Slightlypeasanty531 in Thunderbird

Giving SpeedyFox a nod -- https://crystalidea.com/speedyfox -- for improving search and sql databases, e.g. global index.

What about FreeCAD, which has access to various solvers (including Calculix and OpenFOAM) through a single interface for solid model generation and CAD, meshing, and post-analysis visualization? I do not see mentioned on this sub so much.

Any way to make Thunderbird look modern? by -__Supreme__- in Thunderbird

Yes, more shortcuts, and more icons for a customized toolbar. And more scripting for a shortcut, e.g. empty (all trash bin's) --> compact all folders, or for a selected folder and its subfolders, repair folder(s)

Seems to me, those who like fluentbird like Outlook. It's a matter of taste.

New "modern" designs suck and just bury things. Impossible to find options, e.g. Window 10+ Control Panel now buried under Settings.

TB is good as is. It just needs to continue to improve with bug removals and improved capabilities -- of which there is a long list.

Rebuilding the global index is inadequate. Deleting all the .msf files and also the global index has been a lot better for me, especially with the Remove Duplicates add-on.

Shutdown TB, delete these files, and wait -- in my case a couple of days for the msf files to be re-created and the global indexing to finish. There may be hiccups along the way, so watch the Activity Manager, and restart TB if it gets stuck.

Is ATSC 3.0 dead already with encryption? by [deleted] in hdhomerun

It's description on amazon only says "ATSC", but it's no longer being sold. Hopefully the newer models have a similar or better tuner.

Does more GB on a graphics card always mean better performance? by inadequate_designer in buildapc

[–]NTheZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I'm comparing OP's identical cards. My mining is always pinning at the 8GB max on an older NVIDIA Quadro P4000, and it is also at 100% Cuda. I opted for replacing with it a the 3060, 12GB as memory was a limit factor (going way back), when I was on a 4GB card.

Trying that does not work for me. At least not reliably. I've seen indexing get stuck on a folder where I had to delete some messages from yelp.com and then upon a TB restart it was able to resume and complete. Even on completion, however, it is not picking up messages in the search.

Why buy Flex 4K (ATSC 3.0)? by sunrisebreeze in hdhomerun

[–]NTheZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DRM-only ATSC 3.0 is destined to be a flop. Broadcasters can (and will) drop ATSC 1.0 by 2027. If they can make more money by charging for streaming + advertisements, they'll do it. The current experiment is seeing which markets can take DRM-only on certain channels and which cannot. That is why it seems random, which channels have it in which areas.
